Weather Personalities on Social Media: Part I

As requested, the social media profiles and other requested details for the weather personalities listed in rows 5 through 14 have been provided in the attached spreadsheet.

Findings

  • For each newscaster listed, we have provided the city and the news station they work for, as well as links to and follower counts for Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram. Additionally, we have provided links to two of their recent social media posts which have been engaging.
  • Each of the newscasters addressed are located in New York City.
  • With the exception of Bill Evans (who works in radio) and Maria Molina Timmer (who is a student), the weather personalities addressed in this request work at ABC, NBC, and/or Fox News.
  • Where necessary, additional sources have been provided in column K of the attached spreadsheet.

RESEARCH STRATEGY

In searching for samples of engaging social media posts, we began by identifying the words "recent" and "engaging". Specifically, we have defined "recent" as meaning those posts made in the month of August, and "engaging" as meaning those posts with the most responses and/or likes. We have endeavored to provide a combination of Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter posts where possible.

In the case of Bill Evans, no Facebook profile could be found. His existing profile was recently deactivated, and no new one has been created as of yet. As such, the appropriate cell of the attached spreadsheet has been marked N/A. Similarly, in the case of Maria Molina Timmer, the cell for "station" has been marked N/A. This is because, while Molina-Timmer worked as a meteorologist in the past, she is currently a full-time student and is not working for any news station.
