Who are the wealthiest residents of Albany, New York and where is their wealth from?
Hello! Thanks for your request for a spreadsheet of the wealthiest residents of Albany, New York, that includes the background of their wealth. The short answer is, I was able to use data on companies in this area that have the highest revenue to determine who the highest earning executives in Albany are, as well as those who had likely generated a large net worth based on examining their professional and business histories. You’ll find a deeper dive of that data on the following spreadsheet.
METHODOLOGY
In order to create a list of some of the wealthiest residents in Albany, New York, I first examined data on companies that were the largest revenue sources in Albany, using lists on BizJournals and FindTheCompany. I utilized this data to determine which executives at these companies were likely earning the most money, based both on data sources on individual earnings as well as data on these companies’ overall revenue, using business databases, industry reports, and other relevant media sources. Given data from the previous response that showed that only 4.9% of Albany households earn over $150,000, I concluded that anyone earning over $1 million per year was likely to be amongst the wealthiest individuals in the area.
Because very little data is available on those in this area with regards to highest overall net worth, in compiling data, and choosing who to include on this spreadsheet, I focused on executives or business owners that had likely been earning incomes over $1 million for a significant amount of time, as these are the most likely to have accrued a significant amount of personal wealth. I also examined data on local entrepreneurs such as Angelo Mazzone, who both own and are partners in many large companies. You'll find relevant information on their financial status in Column 3.
Please also note, as a single Wonder list comprises 10 items, on the spreadsheet I have included data on ten individuals who are in the wealthiest bracket in Albany.
