Research Strategy

We started our research by extensively perusing through the various social media pages such as Facebook and Twitter to find personal information linked to Alastair. This strategy yielded no results apparently because he does not operate social media accounts in Twitter and Facebook despite being quite active on LinkedIn. Only information on people with similar names, but from different countries and fields of expertise was found.

Next we used Vology social media pages to search for any personal information on Alastair, including news media coverage. Although the company has active social media pages in Facebook, LinkedIn, and Twitter, it does not post any information regarding its employees that could be helpful in finding Alastair’s personal information. Then we turned to the company’s official website and other pages with information on Vology’s organization structure with the hope that the pages could provide some personal information. Going through the official website did not provide any personal information on Alastair despite holding a senior position in the company. Only the biography information of the company's top leadership was provided. Another website, theorg.com, had the company’s organization chart, but no further personal information on the leaders was available.

The other strategy involved searching public interviews, podcasts, guest posts, and articles to find information about his family, since mostly such sources offer granular information about family and personal lives of people. However, we did not find any information. Further, we searched for any annual publications from the University of Florida about their students Alma mater to find any information about Alastair, but no personal information was found.

Lastly, we searched through media archives about Alastair and his work with his previous companies to find sources that may contain mentions about his personal life. Again, the search yielded no information.
