Research Strategy

Our search through the public database, media reports, and government websites for information regarding the number of people currently going for one-on-one therapy was not readily available. Subsequently, we leveraged critical information to determine the number of Americans presently undergoing therapy in general. We found data from a 2020 survey showing an increase in the number of people who sought therapy or counseling due to the COVID-19 outbreak. We then used that info to calculate the total number of people undergoing therapy in the US. Lastly, we found previously shared information promoting in-person one-on-one therapy as the most popular therapy method used by 77.5% of people undergoing therapy in 2021. We then used that data to provide the total number of Americans that are going to one-on-one therapy.
