What are the top medtech accelarators/incubators worldwide?

Hello! Thanks for your question about the top medical technology accelerators and incubators in the world. The short version is that I was able to create a top 7 list based on each company's visibility and investments. Due to the fact that these companies have extensive lists of investors as well as incubator projects, I have linked to the relevant data rather than attempt to list them all in this response. Below you will find a deep dive of my findings.
I personally loved researching this as I have a background in home and durable medical equipment and enjoy keeping abreast of new medical technology developments.

There are numerous medical technology accelerators/incubators, so the first step in the process was to narrow the list down. To that end I found "top" medtech incubator lists on MedicalStartups.org, BeckersHospitalReview.com, and EMRandHIPAA.com. I cross-referenced these with general business and technology incubator lists from Forbes, Entrepreneur.com, and LetsTalkPayments.com, giving preference to those companies that stand out enough to garner wider attention. I eliminated three from consideration due to the fact that their incubator / accelerator programs were not geared specifically towards medical technology.

This gave me a list of seven incubator/accelerator companies which appear to lead the pack. I then researched the details of each of these top seven to discover, where possible, its homepage, criteria, investors, and portfolio of projects. In no case did I discover a precise duration of their projects; these seem to vary according to their individual needs.

DREAMIT HEALTH

A subsidiary of the well-known accelerator company Dreamit Ventures, Dreamit Health has a long list of successful incubator projects under its belt. Angel.co shows only a single investor name under Dreamit Health specifically, and only six investors under the parent company. Beyond supporting startups, they do not appear to have specific criteria.

TECHSTARS

Though not restricted to medical technology acceleration, Techstars "partners with Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles to support physicians and researchers." Nevertheless, they were singled out as a top incubator company by no less than Forbes. Angel.co has a list of their current and past investors as well as their incubation projects.

HEALTH WILDCATTERS

A subsidiary of Tech Wildcatters, this organization "supports companies focused on digital health, mhealth, health IT, medical devices, pharmaceuticals and diagnostics." Angel.co has an extensive list of the incubator projects and what appears to be a partial list of investors.

MaRS INNOVATION

This incubator "specializes in extreme early-stage seed investing for companies and technology emerging from our 15 members with life science focus." Despite having a limited number of members, it nevertheless channels $1.47 billion in funding. I could not uncover a list of investors.

ROCK HEALTH

This organization "is a nonprofit seed fund for entrepreneurs focused on health and wellness through web and mobile technologies" and has "has partnerships with companies such as AARP, Blue Shield of California and Boston Children's Hospital," among others. Its list of investors is quite extensive.

NEW YORK DIGITAL HEALTH ACCELERATOR

This company is funded by the New York eHealth Collaborative and the Partnership Fund of New York City. It "focuses on companies developing technology products in care coordination, patient engagement and workflow improvement." Its criteria includes a proviso that its potential partners must have already developed a healthcare IT product that is in use by at least one provider in New York State. It has an impressive portfolio of projects.

THE FOUNDRY

Claiming to be "the premier medical device company incubator," The Foundry has an impressive portfolio. Its investor list is equally impressive. I was not able to discover its precise criteria beyond what is said about its mission on its homepage.

CONCLUSION

To wrap it up, the seven organizations above stand out as the top medical technology incubator / accelerator companies. Due to the sheer number of both investors and projects involved, I have provided links to the relevant data so that you may both peruse them at your leisure and keep abreast of new developments in this face-paced sector.
