The requested details about the major grocery store brands in the US have been provided in rows 2-26 of the attached spreadsheet (US Top Grocery Brands Tab). Below are the selected findings.
Selected Findings
- Ahold Delhaize USA had an annual sales in 2021 was $53.7 billion.
- Kroger's annual sales in 2021 were $137.9 billion.
- Wakefern Food Corporation had an annual sales of $17.8 billion in 2021.
Research Strategy
We leveraged credible news sources (such as Forbes, CNN, Supermarket News, and Reuters) and grocery/supermarket industry reports to answer the research question. We identified the top grocery store brands in the US and ranked them using their revenue. Furthermore, we searched their websites and annual reports for each company to provide the yearly sales, the number of employees, and stores. We also expanded the search to look at company databases such as Hoovers, Crunchbase, ZoomInfo and Pitchbook to provide the requested details. However, we only included parent companies for identified grocery store brands that are subsidiaries of other companies.
