Top Cereal Manufacturers

We have entered the requested details regarding the contact information for the CMO or VP of marketing for the top five cereal manufacturers in the US on the "Cereal" tab of the attached spreadsheet.

TOP FIVE CEREAL MANUFACTURERS IN THE US

RESEARCH STRATEGY

We found a list of the top five cereal manufacturers by market share in the US in 2017 on Statista. An identical list published by Bakery and Snacks includes the corresponding revenue numbers. We searched for a more recent list because the difference between the first and second top companies, Kellogg Company and General Mills, is very small, and it could change within one year. A similar, more recent 2018 list was found on Bakery and Snacks and it shows that Kellogg Company and General Mills have switched positions.

We then searched through the 2018 annual reports of the companies to confirm the revenue numbers. We also combed through the annual reports of the parents companies of Quaker Oats and Kashi Company, which are private subsidiaries. Only General Mills provided the revenue of its cereal segment. This corroborates the data provided by the Bakery and Snacks 2018 list, and confirms its accuracy. Since private label is not one particular company but contract or third-party manufacturers producing goods with the brand name of retailers, we selected the next top US manufacturer, Kashi Company to complete the list.

To search for the names of Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) or VP of marketing, as well their email addresses and phone numbers, we started by exploring their websites. We hoped that their corporate websites would provide email and phone information for the listed contacts. While some companies provided biographies for their top executives, they did not provide direct contact information like emails and phone numbers. We only found company phone numbers.

We then looked for the contacts on LinkedIn, some people provide their email addresses on LinkedIn, or a link to personal websites and blogs, unfortunately none of the contacts provided this information. We also searched for their personal websites and blogs, but found none. Next, we checked their social media pages. Sometimes, people provide their email addresses on social media, but none of them gave this information.

Finally, we performed a press search to see if any of the contacts had provided direct contact information in the media. We search through credible media and press release sites like CNBC, Forbes, PR Newswire, as well as marketing websites such as The Drum and AdAge; however, this did not yield any relevant results. As we were unable to find any direct contact information, we used Voila Norbert and Snovio to find all the email addresses but none of the direct phone numbers were publicly available. Hence, we provided the company phone numbers.

Top Yogurts Manufacturers

The requested details regarding the contact information for the CMO or VP of marketing for the top five yogurts manufacturers in the US have been entered into the "Yogurts" tab of the attached spreadsheet.

TOP FIVE YOGURTS MANUFACTURERS IN THE US

  • The 2016 yogurts market share of Danone was 32.7%, corresponding to revenue of $2.49 billion. Sandra Bereti is Chief Marketing Officer at Danone North America.
  • The 2016 yogurts market share of Chobani was 21.8%, corresponding to revenue of $1.66 billion. Peter McGuinness is President/Chief Marketing and Commercial Officer at Chobani.
  • The 2016 yogurts market share of General Mills was 19.4%, corresponding to revenue of $1.47 billion. Ivan Pollard is Chief Marketing Officer at General Mills.
  • The 2016 yogurts market share of Fage was 6.0%, corresponding to revenue of $456 million. Lisa Laich is North America Marketing Lead at Fage.
  • The 2016 yogurts market share of Noosa Yoghurt was 1.8%, corresponding to revenue of $136.8 million. Priscilla Tuan is Senior Vice President of Marketing at Sovos Brands.

RESEARCH STRATEGY

We started our search for the top five yogurts manufacturers in the US by looking for relevant press reports and industry news on the US yogurts manufacturing market. A 2019 article by the Wall Street Journal identified Danone as the biggest yogurt manufacturer in the US according to Nielsen data. It mentioned Chobani, General Mills, Fage International SA, and Noosa Yoghurt LLC as the other top US yogurt manufacturers, but it did not include the revenues or the market share of the companies. Another article by Food Navigator-USA only included revenue and market share growth numbers. It did not provide any reference revenue or market share to enable us to calculate current revenue or market share numbers.

We then searched through the annual reports of the companies to find their revenue numbers and check if they published the revenue for their yogurts segment. However, only General Mills provided the revenue of its yogurts segment. Fage provided only its US market share. Danone did not break its revenue by the different product segments. Chobani is a private company, so it does not publicly disclose its financial records. Noosa Yoghurt is a subsidiary of Sovos Brands, which is also a private company. The available information is not enough to rank the top companies.

We proceeded to scour through market research reports on the US yogurt manufacturing market to check for information about the top companies, the US market size, and the market share of the top companies in order to calculate their revenues. We searched through market research site sites like Nielsen, Mintel, Euromonitor, Allied Market Research, Statista, and Ibis World. We could not gather much relevant information as they are paywalled. We only found information about the top companies and the US yogurt market size, but we couldn't find data on their market share to enable us to triangulate their yogurt revenues.

We extended our research to reports older than two years. We found a Statista report which provided the market share of the top five US yogurt manufacturers. However, a careful look at the data shows that only three distinct companies, Danone, Chobani, and General Mills (Yoplait) were mentioned. A Nielsen report published by Dairy Reporter in 2017 confirmed that Danone, Chobani, and General Mills are the top three US yogurt manufacturers and included their market share. It also puts the 2016 US yogurt market size at $7.6 billion. We also found a Euromonitor published by Fortune in 2017 which included the 2016 market share of the top six US yogurt manufacturers. The market share numbers of the two reports are almost the same. Hence, were selected the top five manufacturers from the Fortune report as it is the most comprehensive available report. We were able to triangulate their 2016 yogurt revenues using data from the two reports. The top five manufacturers, Danone, Chobani, General Mills, Fage, and Noosa Yoghurt, are the same top companies identified by the 2019 article by the Wall Street Journal.

To search for the names of Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) or VP of marketing, as well as their email addresses and phone numbers, we started by exploring their websites. We hoped that their corporate websites would provide email and phone information for the listed contacts. While some companies provided biographies for their top executives, they did not provide direct contact information like emails and phone numbers. We only found company phone numbers.
We then looked for the contacts on LinkedIn, some people provide their email addresses on LinkedIn, or a link to personal websites and blogs. Unfortunately, none of the contacts provided this information. We also searched for their personal websites and blogs but found no direct emails and phone numbers.
Next, we checked their social media pages. Sometimes, people provide their email addresses on social media. But none of them gave this information.
Finally, we performed a press search to see if any of the contacts had provided direct contact information in the media. We search through credible media and press release sites like CNBC, Forbes, PR Newswire, as well as marketing websites such as The Drum, AdAge, However, this did not yield any relevant result.
As we were unable to find any direct contact information, we used Voila Norbert and Snovio to find all the email addresses but none of the direct phone numbers were publicly available. Hence, we provided the company phone numbers. Chobani's CMO, Peter McGuinness, was promoted to the role of the company President on August 28, 2019. Other company executives were also promoted but the role of CMO was not assigned to any other person. Christine Dahm was Vice President of Marketing at Noosa Yoghurt until November 2018 when it was acquired by Sovos Brands. Therefore, the Senior Vice President of Marketing at Sovos Brands, Priscilla Tuan, is responsible for filling up the role.

CALCULATIONS

The 2016 US yogurt market size was $7.6 billion:
Yogurt market size * company market share = company yogurt revenue
The 2016 US yogurt revenue of Danone = $7.6 billion * 32.7% = $2.49 billion
The 2016 US yogurt revenue of Chobani = $7.6 billion * 21.8% = $1.66 billion
The 2016 US yogurt revenue of General Mills = $7.6 billion * 19.4% = $1.47 billion
The 2016 US yogurt revenue of Fage = $7.6 billion * 6.0% = $456 million
The 2016 US yogurt revenue of Noosa Yoghurt = $7.6 billion * 1.8% = $136.8 million

MARS

GENERAL MILLS

KELLOGG

HORMEL FOODS

CLIF BAR & COMPANY

Research Strategy:

To provide the contact information of the CMO or VP of marketing for the top five bars/protein bars manufacturers in the US, we began by searching through reports and official lists of the top brands/companies in the US. Ample Market Reports gave us a list with the names of the top protein bar manufacturers ranked by revenue. However, the list didn't have the revenues of the companies, just their ranking.

Next, we decided to search for the annual revenue of each company listed in the report. We used the company's annual reports and company databases like ZoomInfo and Crunchbase for the information. The companies from the list with their respective revenues are:

Clif Bar & Company with $322.4 million per year.
General Mills with $15.7 billion per year.
Balance Bar with $14.4 million per year.
Chicago Bar Company /RXBAR with $110 million per year.
Abbott Nutrition with $4.2 million per year.
The Kellogg Company with $13.5 billion annually.
MARS Inc. with $35 billion per year.
Hormel Foods with $9.5 billion per year.
Atkins Nutritionals with $30 million per year.
NuGo Nutrition with $24.2 million per year.

For easier access, we compiled the information on each company's revenue in a single document. With this information, we were able to determine that the five US manufacturers of bars and protein bars with the highest revenue are MARS Inc., General Mills, The Kellog's Company, Clif Bar & Co., and Hormel Foods.

After this, we started looking for their respective executives, phones, and email addresses. We searched through their respective companies' websites for the information of the contact, title, email, and phone. We also used the executives' LinkedIn profiles to find the data. In the cases where the email was not available, we used sites like Hunter IO, ThatsThem, and Contact Out, to locate it. However, some contacts had no information about their phones. In these cases, we expanded the search and looked for the phone of the company's headquarters.

RESEARCH STRATEGY

To locate the top five fruit snacks manufactures in the United States, we began by combing through credible market reports like Bestproducts report for a precompiled list of top fruit snacks manufacturers in the United States. While we were able to locate the 13 best fruit snacks manufacturers in the United States, there was no information regarding why these companies were ranked best. We went further by combing e-commerce store that has a presence in the United States to determine the best-selling fruits snacks. We utilize Amazon and Walmart for information regarding the top-selling fruit snacks in the United States. This strategy was successful as we were able to locate a list of top-selling fruit snacks in the United States. Our research team went further to filter the top-selling manufacturers from both stores.

Next, we scoured through the 2018 annual reports of the companies to confirm their revenue. While we were able to locate the 2018 annual reports of Kellogg's, we were unable to locate the annual reports of the remaining companies. Our research team changed gear by combing through third-party company databases like ZoomInfo, D&B Hoover, and Craft for information regarding the company annual revenue. This strategy was successful. We, therefore, ranked Kellogg's, Welch's, Annie's, Mott's, and Betty Crocker as the top five fruit snacks manufacturers based on their annual revenue as available in the public domain.

To search for the names of chief marketing officer (CMO) or VP of marketing, as well as their email addresses and phone numbers, we started by exploring their websites. We hoped that their corporate websites would provide email and contact information. While some companies provided biographies for their top executives, they did not provide direct contact information like emails and phone numbers. We only found company phone numbers.

Our research team broadened the scope of the research by combing through professional websites like LinkedIn for information regarding the names of chief marketing officer (CMO) or VP of marketing, as well their email addresses and phone numbers. While we were able to locate the names of chief marketing officer (CMO) and VP of marketing, there was no information regarding email and phone numbers as this was not publicly available. We went further to utilize Rocket Reach and Hunter.io to locate the email and phone contact of chief marketing officer (CMO) and VP of marketing. While we were able to locate the email address, there was no information regarding their phone numbers — this information was behind a paywall.

Lastly, we performed a press search to see if any of the chief marketing officer (CMO) or VP of marketing provided direct contact information in the media. We search through credible media and press releases like CNBC, Forbes, and PR Newswire, as well as marketing websites like the Drum and AdAge. However, this did not yield any relevant results, as we were unable to find any direct contact information for the chief marketing officer (CMO) and VP of marketing. We, therefore, concluded that the phone numbers were not publicly available. As an alternative, our research team provided the companies phone number in the project spreadsheet.

RESEARCH STRATEGY

To locate the top five meal kits manufacturers in the United States, we began by combing through credible market reports and articles from sources like Statista, Vox, Forbes, PRNewswire, etc., for a pre-compiled list of top meal kit manufacturers in the United States. While we were able to locate the meal kit manufacturers in the US by market share on Statista, there was no information regarding their ranking by revenue. In our primary research, we found the top six meal kit manufacturers who comprise almost 100% of the meal kit market in the US. Our initial research also estimated the size of the meal kit market in the US to be $2.6 billion.

Next, we scoured through the 2018 annual reports of the companies to confirm their revenue. We were able to locate the 2018 annual revenue and/or 2017 revenue figures for the companies in the public domain. We analyzed the revenue figures for each company and compared the gross revenue figures of the six companies with the total market size of the US meal kits market. Our research showed that these six companies were indeed the biggest meal kit manufacturing companies in the US, negating the possibility of any other company having more revenue.

To search for the names of chief marketing officer (CMO) or VP of marketing, as well as their email addresses, and phone numbers, we started by exploring their websites. We hoped that their corporate sites would provide email and contact information.

While we were able to locate the names of the chief marketing officers (CMO) and VPs of marketing, there was no information regarding their email and phone numbers, as this was not publicly available. We went further to utilize RocketReach and Hunter.io to locate the email and phone contact of the chief marketing officers (CMO) and VPs of marketing. We were able to locate the email addresses and phone numbers in most of the cases. Otherwise, we provided one of both.

Lastly, we performed a press search to see if any of the chief marketing officers (CMO) or VPs of marketing provided direct contact information in the media. We searched through credible media and press releases like CNBC, Forbes, and PRNewswire, as well as marketing websites like the Drum and AdAge. However, this strategy did not yield any relevant results, as we were unable to find any direct contact information for the chief marketing officers (CMO) and VPs of marketing. We, therefore, concluded that the phone numbers were not publicly available. As an alternative, our research team provided phone numbers of the companies in the project spreadsheet.
