Top Conferences - Auto Industry

The AAPEX, SEMA Show, Central Florida International Auto Show, Performance Racing Industry (PRI) Trade Show, Chicago Auto Show, New England International Auto Show, Denver International Auto Show, Las Vegas International Auto Show, New York International Auto Show, and Indianapolis Auto Show are ten of the top auto industry conferences in the United States. We defined “top” based on popularity, attendance numbers, and industry respect. As requested, we’ve linked the heading of each conference’s section to its official website. We've included a deep dive of our findings below.

According to its website, the SEMA Show is the “premier automotive specialty products trade event in the world.” It is a global industry event catering to an audience of 70,000 buyers. The Central Florida International Auto Show is a subdivision of Motor Trend Auto Shows of The Enthusiast Network (TEN), which holds auto conferences in 19 cities across the country. The show features more than 350 models including cars, trucks, SUVs, crossovers, and AFVs from Ford, Chrysler, Suzuki, and other major companies. Additional event displays include exotic vehicles, collector’s cars, and “pre-production models.”

Founded in 1901, the Chicago Auto Show is the “largest auto show in North America.” The event features over 1,000 different vehicles that include a “complete range of domestic and imported passenger cars and trucks, [SUVs], and experimental or concept cars.” The Chicago Auto Show has been produced by the Chicago Automobile Trade Commission (CATA) since 1935.

Introduction

The field of ‘Higher Education’ is broad. This search, therefore, took in consideration conferences pertaining to Higher Education in general. It is worth noting that conferences in particular subject matter are not included. Rather, this list reflects larger leadership and operations concerns administration, IT, marketing, and recruitment.

The conferences on this list were considered top higher education in previous years by noteworthy lists and/or size of attendance. For many, direct contact information was not available for a conference organizer. In these instances, the best alternative contact is listed.

Carnegie Conference

The Carnegie Conference focused on how to employ successful marketing strategies to recruit students and tell an institution’s story. Conclusion

Multiple conferences are still very early in the planning stages. As an interested speaker, these later conferences are likely to have the most flexibility in their programs and worth considering first. It is worth considering that the pervading themes of these conferences are surrounding effectively employing technology to drive organizational effectiveness, building stronger relationships with peers in other institutions of higher education, and leadership.

Top Conferences - High Tech/Internet

The top ten conferences in high tech and internet in 2018 are DeveloperWeek, MobileWorld Congress, Open Source Leadership Summit, Gartner CIO Summit, SXSW, IBM Think, Future, IoT Summit, CIO Summit and F8.

All these conferences are backed or organized by top companies in the business and have been recommended by specialized media in the tech and internet sectors — such as CIO, TechRadar, Bizzabo and SAM solutions.

2. MOBILE WORLD CONGRESS
Mobile World Congress takes place in Barcelona, Spain, but it is one of the key high tech conferences in the world and nearly every specialized media outlet recommends it as one of the top events of the year.

Mobile World focuses on all things mobile — from developing apps to devices to startups to new applied technology. It is organized by GSMA, it has gathered over 108,000 attendees and past speakers have included representatives from companies like AT&T, McAfee and Ericsson.
