Who are the top 10 small to mid-sized pharma companies in Mexico, who have good growth prospects, a proven business model, and could benefit from investment to help expand?

Hi, thanks for asking about a list of the top 10 small to medium sized pharmaceutical companies in Mexico. After a ton of digging, I was able to build a list of 10 companies that meet your criteria. In the attached spreadsheet, you will find the list of these companies along with their headquarters, employment size, revenue, type, description, and sources used. Below, you will find a more extensive account of my findings.

METHODOLOGY
In order to locate the leading small to medium sized pharmaceutical companies in Mexico, I began my research by finding a pre-compiled list of fastest growing organizations in this region. Through this approach, I was able to find a few that match your criteria. Next, I searched for a company directory that would enable us to arrange results by growth, revenue, or the number of employees. After a thorough pursuit, however, it appears that such database does not exist.

During the course of my research, I’ve searched Owler for Mexican pharmaceutical companies that have fewer than 1,500 employees, have more than $2 million USD in annual revenue, and have been founded within the past 10 years. This search, however, turned up zero results. As such, I’ve removed the founding date limit and subsequently got a total of 12 results. I reviewed each company and included in the list those that have the highest potential for an investment.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION
The International Finance Corporation (IFC) defines small and medium-sized companies in Mexico as those with 11-50 employees and 51-250 employees (respectively). However, this employment size range is simply a general classification of companies. An article written by The Balance suggested that Mexico follows the North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) when it comes to defining SMEs. In their most recent ‘company size standards’ table, US SBA has reported that according to the NAICS system, pharmaceutical companies with fewer than 1,250 employees qualify as an SME.

A report published by the Thunderbird School of Global Management reveals that in Mexico, small to medium sized companies generate $4 million-$250 million MXN or $200,000-$12.5 million USD per year. Moreover, an article published by Merca20 reports that in Mexico, medium sized companies generate 72% of jobs and contribute 52% of their GDP.

In the attached spreadsheet, you will find a list of 10 small to mid-sized pharmaceutical companies in Mexico that I’ve determined to be the top 10. Please note that due to the absence of any directory that contains historical revenues and growth rates, the majority of the companies on this list were selected based on publicly available data such as annual revenue estimate and employment size.
