TikTok User Demographics

The adoption of TikTok is higher among females (8.2 million) than males (6.1 million) in the United States. Teenagers and millennials are the primary users of the app.


  • Statistics from Marketing Charts show that teenagers and millennials are the primary users of TikTok in the United States.
  • 25.8 percent of US adult users of the app are aged 18 – 24, 24.5 percent are 25-34 years, 20.3 percent are 35-44 years while 13.1% and 13% are aged 45-54, and 55-64 respectively.
  • Additionally, 3.2 percent of those aged 65 and above use TikTok.
  • Eighteen percent of US adult users of the app come from households with less than $25,000 in annual income and 32% from those with a total income of $100K or more. However, adoption is highest among adults from households with less than $25,000 in total income.
