Research Strategy

Information specific to the United Kingdom was not clearly stated by the platform except for specific challenges launched by TikTok. Therefore, we included information about challenges that have had a global impact and in which users from the United Kingdom have participated. The number of users that have uploaded videos to participate in the challenges is not clear. However, the number of views is considered a reflection of user engagement on the platform, which is why this information was included for the majority of the top challenges presented on this list.

Research Strategy

Our search for the top ten TikTok accounts with a high following from UK residents was unfruitful. We analyzed several sources on TikTok statistics, including Statista, Oberlo, Mediakix, Business of Apps, among others. However, the statistics and analysis provided were mainly about TikTok downloads, with no reference to accounts with a high following from UK residents. We, therefore, opted to find the top ten UK-based accounts with large following with the assumption that most of their followers are UK residents. We analyzed several sources that provided a list of Top UK-based TikTok content creators like Vidooly and PMYB, among others. We then narrowed our list to those with the highest following.
