What are the most successful "chat bot" applications available today?
In order to determine what the successful chatbot applications are today, research was done to find a compiled list of top-rated chatbots by users and chatbot capabilities. Two major lists were found that organized the chatbot applications based on the editor's preference and the technologies used. For the basis of this research, the listed programs were ranked based on user popularity. The number of users that visited each chatbot's site in December 2017 was used to rank the popularity. For sites that did not list a specific number, the percent of users that came directly to the site, rather than being directed from another source, was used instead. A total of 17 successful chatbot applications were found, and details can be found on the attached spreadsheet. Below is a brief overview of the content that was found, as well as links to each chatbot's logo.
Top Successful Chatbot Applications
Function: Build chatbots for processing user requests; also works in addition to Microsoft Cortana and Bing
Function: Chatbot for Facebook Messenger; sends out messages, sales, etc. to subscribers in the FB Messenger app
Function: Chatbots for insurance processes; processes payments, produces quotes; operates on multiple platforms

Based on page views over the month of December 2017, the above 17 chatbot applications are the top successful programs at the moment. Many of them utilize AI and machine-learning technologies, but they all have different functions.
