This strategy provided all the requested details for some hospitals. However, for others, we had to expand our search to third-party sources, such as the Quality Check Org website by the Joint Commission, to identify whether they are stroke certified. Also, we used people-finding databases like Radaris and email-finding tools, such as Get Email and Hunter.io, to find the contacts of the identified stroke care coordinators. Unfortunately, after a thorough search in the public domain, we could not find the stroke program coordinator at The Hospitals of Providence - Memorial Campus. According to Indeed, the hospital is currently hiring for this position. Therefore, we have entered N/A in the corresponding cell.

Research Strategy

For this research to find the requested information for the assigned stroke care hospitals in rows 32-41, we leveraged credible sources available in the public domain, including news sources, company websites, government websites, and industry databases. Notable websites we relied on included American Heart Association, Nebraska Med, and Cone Health. To obtain contact information of stroke coordinators, we reviewed company websites and news reports. When we could not find the requested information from these sources, we resorted to LinkedIn and email-finding tools such as Hunter.io. After extensive research, we could not find the certifying organization for some hospitals. In such cases, we entered N/A in the corresponding cells. We also found no indication that the Monroe Clinic in Monroe, WI is certified.

We could not find the name of the stroke program coordinator/manager of the Hospitals of Providence Transmountain campus. Even so, we found that other campuses under the Hospitals of Providence umbrella, such as the Sierra and Memorial Campuses, had active job postings for the position of Stroke Program Coordinator. Based on this, we assumed that the Hospitals of Providence Transmountain campus does not currently have the position of stroke program coordinator because are also in the process of hiring for the position.

Select Findings

Research Strategy

For this company analysis research, we leveraged credible sources available in the public domain, including hospital websites and LinkedIn pages. To determine or confirm that a hospital has stroke certification, we utilized its website and the Joint Commissions Quality Check tool, which lists the stroke certifications awarded to hospitals. We also used third-party email finder applications, such as Hunter.io, to retrieve the emails of some stroke center personnel and have provided email confirmation screenshots in this Google Document. Our research revealed that three hospitals, Thibodaux Regional Medical Center, Thomas Hospital and Tift Regional Medical Center, have not received any stroke certifications. We couldn't find any information, including a website, for Toledo Hospital (THE) listed in row 50 of the project spreadsheet. Although we stumbled on other hospitals in the area, such as ProMedica Toledo Hospital and The University of Toledo Medical Center, we didn't find any information on Toledo Hospital or a matching website. We have entered "N/A" representing "Not Available" in the corresponding cells. At the end of this research, we Couldn't determine the stroke program coordinator/manager/director and contact information for Tomball Regional Medical Center (row 51). Our attempts at locating this information included searching the hospital's website, the people section of its LinkedIn page and press releases/news reports from the hospital or third-party news websites. However, we could not retrieve some requested information, such as contact information for Trinitas Regional Medical Center, the name of the stroke program coordinator or manager, and contact information for Trinity Medical Center East and Toppenish Community Hospital, because the information is not available in the public domain. We also ascertained that Toppenish Community Hospital and Trinity Medical Center East do not have stroke certifications. Transylvania regional hospital does not have stroke certifications; however, it operates under Mission Hospital, which is a comprehensive stroke center.

We have also attached a Google document with screenshots of contact details such as emails and phone numbers as evidence since we used Signalhire, which requires a subscription to access its content.

The link to the spreadsheet can be found here.

Selected Findings

  • Trinitas Regional Medical Center is a primary stroke center certified by the Joint Commission and the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association.

Stroke Certification & Management Details, Rows 72-81

Introduction

Most of the assigned U.S. hospitals in rows 72-81 have received a stroke certification from the Joint Commission, except for UCHealth Greeley Hospital and UF Health Jacksonville. It does not appear that UCHealth Greeley Hospital has received any specific stroke certification, although it has attained an accreditation from the Joint Commission. However, UF Health Jacksonville has received a stroke certification from the Agency for Health Care Administration.

The requested information has been entered into rows 72 through 81 of the attached spreadsheet.

Selected Findings

  • On May 27, 2020, the UCSF Medical Center's Stroke Center earned a Comprehensive Stroke Center accreditation from the Joint Commission.
  • Dr. Lester Y. Leung is the director of the Comprehensive Stroke Center at Tufts Medical Center, as well as the director of the Stroke and Young Adults (SAYA) Program and an assistant professor at Tufts University School of Medicine.
  • The UC San Diego Medical Center - Hillcrest is located at 200 W. Arbor Drive, San Diego, CA 92103. It has received a Comprehensive Stroke Center designation from the Joint Commission.

Research Strategy:

To identify the stroke certification and management details of the assigned hospitals in the United States, we leveraged some of the most reputable sources available in the public domain. Our research commenced by exploring through the public domain to confirm the identity of each of the hospitals using the hospital name and provide location. After locating their official websites, we navigated to the appropriate webpages, including their "About Us", "Contact Us", and "Patient Care & Services" webpages, among others, to find the requested details. Although we were able to find the requested information for the majority of the hospitals through their websites, some information for the other hospitals was unavailable through such sources, such as the stroke certification, name of stroke program coordinator/manager, and contact information. Therefore, we searched for information through press releases published by the hospitals themselves, as well as third-party news, media, and press distribution websites. Also, we searched through the LinkedIn profiles of the hospitals to identify the missing information (e.g., names of stroke program coordinator/manager, contact details), as well as third-party email and phone hunters, such as Hunter.io, RocketReach, Apollo.io, etc. Additionally, we conducted a general search for the names of the primary individual running the stroke programs. Furthermore, we expanded our research to include sources that were published prior to the standard two-year time frame due to the lack of recent details. We were successful in locating most of the missing information, nonetheless, we were still unable to find any stroke accreditation for UCHealth Greeley Hospital, which has only received non-stroke accreditation from the Joint Commission.

Stroke Certification & Management Details, Rows 82-91

Introduction

Information on the stroke certification and management details for the listed hospitals from rows 82 to 91 of the attached spreadsheet has been updated accordingly. While 9 out of the 10 listed hospitals have been certified by either the Joint Commission or the American Stroke Association/American Heart Association, 1 does not offer stroke treatment services. Also, due to the limited availability of information from most of the hospitals, only some management details were identified. We couldn't identify the stroke program coordinators (and their contact information) for all the hospitals. The steps we have adopted towards finding unavailable details have been outlined in the 'Research Section' segment of this report.

The attached spreadsheet can be accessed here.

Selected Findings

UF Health Shands Hospital

Research Strategy

We relied on information provided by each of the listed hospitals, as available on their official websites. However, our research did not find any stroke program or service offered at UHHS Richmond Heights Hospital . And the name of the hospital was not included in the list of treatment locations for stroke and vascular conditions as published by the University Hospitals, the larger group. Even so, we found some details for University Hospitals Richmond medical center, which we confirmed to be located in Richmond Heights, and included its details in cells corresponding to UHHS Richmond Heights Hospital.

To identify the manager or coordinator of each hospital's stroke program, we searched through the designated page for stroke treatment on each company's website, as well as the leadership or care team segments. This approach identified 2 coordinators for UF Health Shands Hospital and UH Cleveland Medical Center.

Our next approach was to search for press releases and news articles published by these hospitals. We hoped to find any publication that contains a name of a coordinator. Fortunately, we found a publication by UNC Lenoir Health Care where the stroke program coordinator was mentioned. However, publicly available contact of him/her could not be verified as the work location is not UNC. Also, a LinkedIn profile we found that could be his/her is not detailed and didn't mention UNC Lenoir Health Care as his/her workplace.

Finally, we scoured LinkedIn to search for employees of these hospitals. We hoped to find current workers on LinkedIn that may have included this position on their LinkedIn profile. Unfortunately, this approach was not successful. As such, we have updated N/A on the managerial columns of UH Geauga Medical Center, Ukiah Valley Medical Center, UHHS Richmond Heights Hospital, and Union Hospital in Indiana.

Stroke Certification & Management Details, Rows 92-101

Introduction

Details on certification and management for the hospitals in rows 92-101 of the attached spreadsheet have been provided. During the search, the research team noted that Metrosouth Medical Center and the University of Maryland Prince George's Hospital Center are no longer in operation. The team also discovered that MidMichigan Medical Center, Alpena, and MidMichigan Medical Center, Gratiot, don't have certified stroke centers. There's also insufficient information in the public domain to prove that the United Hospital Center and Midland Memorial Hospital are certified stroke centers. More details on logic have been presented in the research strategy section.

The link to the project spreadsheet is available HERE.

Overview

Research Strategy

For this research on 'Stroke Certification & Management Details, Rows 92-101,' we've leveraged the most reputable sources of information available in the public domain, including the hospitals' websites, LinkedIn profiles, press releases, The American Stroke Association, and The Joint Commission Quality Check. After a comprehensive search, we noted that Metrosouth Medical Center and the University of Maryland Prince George's Hospital Center are no longer in operation. We also found that MidMichigan Medical Center, Alpena, and MidMichigan Medical Center, Gratiot don't have certified stroke centers. Instead, MyMichigan Medical Center, Midland, is the only certified stroke center.

After an exhaustive search through the websites of Midland Memorial Hospital and United Hospital Center, including their press releases, LinkedIn profiles, and The Joint Commission Quality Check, we found limited information in the public domain to ascertain that the hospitals are certified in stroke services. There's also limited information regarding the hospitals' stroke services. For instance, according to United Hospital Center's website, stroke care/services is not part of their specialties. Midland Memorial Hospital has provided an overview of what stroke care entails, with limited information on whether the hospital offers the services and if they have any certification. We further searched for the hospital's employees from their websites, LinkedIn, and third-party sources like Signal Hire but found none with a title that shows that they work in the stroke department.
