Methodology and market share calculations
We began our research by going through industry reports to determine the top players in the scrap and recycling marketplace. From there, we looked at each company's revenue by going through the company's annual reports or through websites such as Owler and Hoovers. We then compared it to the market size of the US industrial scrap or recycling metal marketplaces to find each company's market share. The market size was procured through a US national security government reports for steel imports, which stated that the US scrap metal industry is currently valued at $117 billion.
