How many restaurants are in Spain, and how many of them offer daily menu?

Overview
Hello! Thanks for your question about the total number of restaurants that offer a daily menu in Spain. The short version is that the total number of restaurants in Spain is 38,578 restaurants while the total number of daily menu, or fixed-price restaurants, is 12,546 restaurants with a market share of 38.5% of the total restaurants in Spain. Below you will find a deep dive of my findings.

METHODOLOGY
To directly answer the request, we first tried to search through databases and government reports but, unfortunately, there was no public data available to directly and clearly answer the question. Therefore, we found the most relevant financial data that can help triangulate the answer. We checked Statista to find the market size and restaurantowner to find an average of a single restaurant revenue so that we can estimate the result. Finally, in order to verify our answer, we went through reviews and industry-related websites. Yelp was very helpful in that regard. We also defined the 10 biggest cities in Spain and found the total number of restaurants in each city along with the ones that have a fixed-price meny. Finally, we have aggregated the results as shown below.

FINDINGS
Findings will be presented in three sections. The first one is devoted to the total restaurant market size in Spain for 2017 with the average revenue per each restaurant. The second one is for the total number of restaurants in each city with an aggregate total and the last one is for the total number of daily menu or fixed-price (fixed-budget) restaurants.

TOTAL NUMBER OF RESTAURANTS BASED ON TOTAL MARKET SIZE IN 2017
As we couldn't directly answer the query because of the scarcity of clearly-stated and publicly-published data related to the subject of research, we have looked for financial data that can help triangulate the answer. We look through Statista to estimate the market size and we also checked restaurantowner to find an average of a single restaurant revenue so we can estimate the result. Accordingly, we have found that market size for the restaurant industry in Spain for the year 2017 is estimated to be $20.783 billion, i.e. €17.688 billion, as per Statista's estimation. Moreover, the average restaurant revenue is estimated to $1,172,629, i.e. €980,246. By dividing the total restaurants revenue in 2017 by the average restaurant revenue, the total number of restaurants in Spain can be estimated as 18,045 restaurants. Moreover the market share of the total daily menu or fixed-budget restaurants is estimated to be 38.5% of the total restaurants in Spain (this will be addressed in the last paragraph). We can multiply that number by the total number of restaurants, 18,045, to estimate the total daily menu or fixed budget restaurants, which is 6,316 restaurants.

TOTAL NUMBER OF RESTAURANTS PER EACH BIG CITY
To find a more accurate estimation, we found the number of restaurants in the 10 biggest cities in Spain based on their population as per geonames.
