Restaurant Competitive Analysis

A competitive analysis for the Cheesecake Factory, Applebee's and Cheddar's in the US has been compiled in the attached spreadsheet. In the analysis, we included the following criteria: relative popularity, demographic of guests, media coverage and any recent marketing.

OVERVIEW

After analyzing Cheesecake Factory, Applebee's and Cheddar's, we can state that Cheesecake Factory currently holds the best position when it comes to popularity. The brand is very popular with Millenials. The Cheesecake Factory has an average engagement of 8,800/day. It is the 25th most popular brand on social media in their category.

Applebee's has been losing customers and closing stores, but is known for its good marketing strategy. Customers have been sharing on social media that "Applebee’s has gone downhill. Bring back some old favorites."

Cheddar's seems to be the least popular out of three, especially on social media. Cheddar's was involved in a racist scandal when a server at Cheddar’s in Murfreesboro was caught sharing a selfie on Snapchat with the n-word in the caption. The server was fired.
