Market Research Vendors
This report identified 16 vendors that provide market research services to venture capital firms and/or financial service firms based on a set of predetermined criteria. Information about each vendor identified has been included in the attached spreadsheet.
Summary of Spreadsheet Findings
- 16 companies were identified that provide consumer market research services for the financial services industry.
- Of the 16 companies identified, all of them offer some type of VOC service, 10 offer some type of social listening service, and 3 provide mystery shopping services.
- All the 16 companies are located in or near the EST time zone via their headquarters or a local office, except for one company on the list which has an office in the U.K. that is only a 5-hour time difference.
To conduct this research, we began by identifying players in the consumer market research space and analyzed their websites to narrow down those that best fit the given criteria: a time-distance from the EST timezone that would be sufficient for business purposes, operates globally, services the financial services and/or VC sectors, and provides one of the three given consumer research services (i.e. VOC, social listening, or mystery shopping). While most of the companies identified met all the given criteria, some exceptions were made as the pool of available companies narrowed. For example, Thinkpiece Partners was the last company found and while they don't specify any geographic areas of focus, they meet the criteria in all other ways. The second to last company found was Gnosis Partners, which was found to be highly relevant to the criteria, however, they don't have an office near the EST time zone. Despite this, it was discovered that they have an office in the U.K. which is only 5 hours ahead, therefore, making it reasonable to conduct business. Additionally, despite exhaustive research and multiple attempts to find consumer insights/market research firms that focus specifically in the VC field, we were unable to find any such company. This is likely due to the fact that most market research companies are talking about their industry experience at a high level rather than acknowledging the various niches within those industries. Very few of the companies identified had any public disclosure about their turnaround times, which was expected based on the strategy phase of this research report. Therefore, contact information was provided for each company so that they may be contacted directly to inquire more about their average turnaround times.
