LinkedIn Founders Research

Key Takeaways

Introduction

As requested, we have provided the Linkedin accounts of the founders/co-founders of each of the listed companies in this custom Google spreadsheet. Specifically, for each of the 38 companies listed in column A, from rows 2 – 39, we provided the name[s] of the founder[s] in column C. If there was more than one founder and/or co-founder, we listed all of them in the same cell. While this was not requested in the chat, we felt this would be very useful information to have, therefore we included it.

Additionally, for each of the 38 companies listed in column A, from rows 2 – 39, we provided the LinkedIn account of the founder in column D. When there was more than one founder, we provided those LinkedIn accounts in column E, F, G, and H, as applicable. As requested, we have defined founders as co-founders as well.

There were cases where the founder did not have a LinkedIn account, so in those cases, as explained in the scoping document, we placed "N/A" in the appropriate cell. Specifically, LinkedIn accounts were not found for six founders/co-founders: Joseph Chen [co-founder] of Anduril; Colin Cookes [co-founder] of Climavision; Janelle McGlothlin [co-founder] of HopSkipDrive; Joe Lonsdale [co-founder] of OpenGov; Avi Korenblum [founder] of Voyager Labs; Alex Halderman [co-founder] of Censys; and Greg Levesque [co-founder] of Strider Technologies.

The founder[s] of Aware [in row 3] could not be located, despite extensive searching, so we placed an N/A in the appropriate cell. We did include the link to the leadership page in column C, if that is of interest.

While the entire research can be viewed in the custom Google spreadsheet, we have provided three highlights from it below, in addition to three key findings at the top of the document.

Research Strategy

For this research on the founders of the 38 companies that were provided to Wonder, we used the only sources that were required, which were the LinkedIn accounts of the founders. However, when we could not find a LinkedIn account, we checked the company website to ensure that they were indeed a founder or a co-founder, and provided those sources as proof they were a founder or co-founder in the spreadsheet deliverable. In the few cases where the company website did not have a leadership page, we leveraged other credible sources such as media and press articles, as well as industry sources such as Crunchbase to confirm the founder and/or co-founder status.

While we were able to find LinkedIn accounts for the vast majority of founders and co-founders, there were instances where it was clear that the founder/co-founder did not have a LinkedIn account, so we placed an N/A in the appropriate cell. We want to note that, despite extensive searching, the founder[s] of Aware [in row 3] could not be located, so we placed an N/A in the appropriate cell. We did include the link to the leadership page in column C, if that is of interest.
