Quantifying Attendance.

Two companies that offer motion-tracking, access-control drones for headcounts that can be used to quantify attendance at events are CodeREADr and Attendance Counter developed by David Lindsley Studio.

After an in-depth search through the public domain, only two companies were found that offer motion-tracking, and access-control systems for headcounts that can be used to quantify attendance at events. This is because other companies are mainly engaged in tracking the headcounts of attendees at events but cannot be used to quantify attendees at events. Below is the deep dive into various strategies we adopted in our research.

METHODOLOGY

Initially, we started searching by looking for 5 to 7 products/companies that offer motion-tracking, access-control drones for headcounts that can be used to quantify attendance at events and potentially deliver a geospatial heatmap showing population distribution over time specific to California. We looked through sources such as VentureRadar, CrunchBase, Dronezon, and DroneGuru. Other sources we searched through include market research and industry research reports such as Drones: Reporting for Work — Goldman Sachs, 2018 Commercial Drone Industry Trends Report, 3D Motion Capture Market, and Global 3D Motion Capture System Market Research Report. The idea was to check if there is a list of any such products/companies available publicly. However, these sources only mentioned access-control and drones systems and their usages for environmental study and other general aspects. Unfortunately, this was not related to counting the headcounts in an event.

Next, we scoured through articles and blogs by looking at the latest technologies that can be used to quantify attendance at events and potentially deliver a geospatial heatmap showing population distribution over time. We looked through sources such as PR News Wire, ABC News, Gizmodo, Motion Capture News, and Business Insider. These sources mentioned the leading brands of drones and motion-tracking devices with their features and details. Further, we looked for companies specific to California but couldn’t get any result. Later, we broadened our research and looked for articles specific to the US, but were unable to find any companies that fit the critieria.

As the above research strategies failed to provide any relevant products/companies, we looked through third-party sources such as Google Play, G2Crowd, and Capterra which gave rating and reviews for products. So, we limited our research by looking at technological products specific to motion-tracking, access-control, and drones. From there, we could locate two relevant companies, codeREADr and Attendance Counter. However, these are the US-based companies but not located in California. As an in-depth analysis of publicly available sources could not reveal California based companies, we have included the above-mentioned companies in our research and provided information on them. We then tried to look for similar/competitor companies information via Hoovers, Owler, and other sources. The idea was to check these companies one by one and see if these can match the required criteria. However, these companies’ products also did not meet the criteria of being used to quantify attendance.

Therefore, we were only able to find the two above-mentioned companies i.e. codeREADr and Attendance Counter that develop an access-control system used to quantify attendance at events based in the US. Three more companies that develop an access-control system to track attendance were found. However, our research through the above-mentioned strategies could not provide three more companies that offer motion-tracking, access-control, drones for headcounts that can be used to quantify attendance at events in California and the US. This is because the companies are mainly involved in the production of the access-control system that is used for tracking.
