Research Strategy:

To answer this query, we started by searching for a pre-compiled list of publications, newspapers, and magazines (both print and digital) that healthcare companies in Tennessee, Austin, TX, and Birmingham, AL subscribe to. We searched through press releases, articles and blogs such as PR Newswire, Forbes, Becker’s Hospital Review and many more since they are known to provide news regarding the healthcare sector. Unfortunately, we could only find a compiled list of the latest health related issues from a source published by PR Newswire. We could not find a compiled list of the required information.

Next, we then decided to generate a list of 7-10 publications, newspapers, and magazines (both print and digital) that healthcare companies in Tennessee, Austin, TX, and Birmingham, AL subscribe to. We generated this list by reviewing major magazine, newspaper, and publications companies in the listed cities that specifically publish news for medical organizations or companies. This approach gave us a list of 7 publications which include: Tennessee Medicine, Becker’s Hospital Review, Nashville Medical News, Texas Hospitals Magazine, Birmingham Medical News, Modern Healthcare, and Texas Medicine Magazine.
We then searched through their official websites (specifically the About pages) to check if they had listed their main subscribers. We did this to help confirm that these magazines, newspapers and publications were subscribed by healthcare companies. For some, they provided a subscription form that required companies to fill their details. Unfortunately, there was no way to confirm (other than speculating) if some organizations that have subscribed to the publications are in the healthcare sector.

Lastly, we examined related information from the press releases, official websites, and financial reports of some healthcare organizations in these regions, including Acadia Healthcare (TN), Harden Healthcare (Austin), Vituro Health (Birmingham). We examined these reports to determine if these healthcare organizations have shared any info or posted anything that might indicate the publications they subscribe to. Unfortunately, these companies only provided general medical information about the healthcare sector and nothing specific to the publications, newspapers, and magazines they subscribe to. We speculate that the information may be largely unavailable, since subscription information could be trade secrets and as a result, the publications, magazines, and newspapers may opt not to make this information public.
