The IT budget estimations for 2016 are as follows: PepsiCo $816.4 million, JPMC $6.9 billion, Bank of America $5.9 billion, Citigroup $2.9 billion, J&J $3.94 billion, 3M $873.2 million, First Data $567.4 million, Itau Unibanco $4.2 billion, Cargill $4.6 billion, Dell/EMC $2.1 billion, Amex $2.1 billion.
The IT budgets for PepsiCo, JPMC, Bank of America, Citigroup, J&J, 3M, First Data, Itau Unibanco, Cargill, Dell/EMC, Amex have been triangulated as percentages of the revenue the companies reported for 2016 based either on the market or industry average spending on IT.

TRIANGULATION

IT budgets for the required companies were not readily available as they are listed in financial reports under technology/innovation spending. Therefore, we triangulated the IT budget values as a % of the annual revenue, depending on the region or the industry. The IT budget is estimated for 2016 as it was calculated based on 2016 revenue figures.

Depending on the market, there are different average percentages that companies invest into their IT budget. The regional averages for percentage of revenue invested in the IT budget are as follows:

Citigroup-3.6% (New York City)
3M-2.9% (Minneapolis-St. Paul, MN)
First Data-4.9% (Atlanta, GA)
Cargill-4.3% (Minneapolis-St. Paul, MN)
Dell/EMC (is considered as single company 'Dell technologies') -3.3% (Boston)"
If the company isn't listed as a single market on the list above, the average is applied based on the industry the company is in. For example, for the food & drinks industry the average of 1.3% of the revenue is invested in the IT budget. Therefore, this percentage is applied for Pepsi's calculation.

PepsiCo

PepsiCo's annual revenue for 2016 is $62.8 billion. PepsiCo is in the food & drinks industry which invest an average of 1.3% in IT budgets.
