Please provide an overview of the structure of Deloitte's global advisory practices, including org chart/structure, names of leadership team, budget, P&L, locations, and number of staff.

Hi! Thanks for letting Wonder help give you an overview of Deloitte. In short, Deloitte is a massive multinational organization made up of partner consultant and auditing firms -- they have partners in 150 countries, and they employ nearly 245,000 people in total. Deloitte's own website, their CrunchBase profile, and Deloitte annual reports were extremely helpful in putting this response together. Read on for my full rundown!

OVERVIEW

Information on Deloitte's leadership and corporate structure was readily available from their own reporting, as were staffing and location numbers. General revenue was also listed in Deloitte's reports, but unfortunately, more detailed information for the global Deloitte organization, including profit/loss figures and budgets, was not available from free sources. I've included revenue figures and links to some paid sources that should have that information.

STRUCTURE & LEADERSHIP

Deloitte is actually made up of a network of partner agencies under the Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu Limited (DTTL or Deloitte Global) umbrella. These firms are independently owned and operated, but they "have access to the skills and knowledge of other member firms, the ability to consult within the Deloitte network, and the benefit of the network’s market recognition and reputation."

They are "not subsidiaries or branch offices of a global parent. Rather, they are separate and distinct legal entities that have voluntarily joined the network to coordinate their approach to client service." As such, each Deloitte partner firm has its own CEO and executive leadership team separate from the overall DTTL executive.

Punit Renjen, CEO, Deloitte Global
Frank Friedman, COO & CFO, Deloitte Global
David Cruickshank, Chairman of the Board, Deloitte Global
Cathy Engelbert, CEO, Deloitte US
David Sproul, CEO, Deloitte UK
Cindy Hook, CEO, Deloitte Australia

Deloitte Global's executive leadership team consists of "26 senior leaders from DTTL and certain member firms across the global network." The team is led by the CEO, who is approved by a vote of all member organizations and serves a four-year term. The CEO selects the leadership team, and together they focus on five areas: "Client leadership, business leadership, geographic leadership, talent leadership, and network leadership."

The DTTL board has 32 members from 18 different Deloitte firms worldwide.

FINANCIALS

Detailed financial information for Deloitte Global is available from both PrivCo and Hoover's. Both of these sites' reports are paywalled, and unfortunately I wasn't able to find freely-available financial information in any more detail than DTTL's Global Impact Report for 2016, which only lists revenue.

Deloitte Global had $36.8 billion US in revenue in fiscal year 2016. Consulting made up the largest portion of that revenue, at $13.1 billion, followed by auditing ($9.4 billion), tax/legal services ($6.9 billion), risk advising ($4.1 billion), and financial advising ($3.3 billion).

LOCATIONS & STAFF

Deloitte's global headquarters is housed in Rockefeller Plaza in New York City, where they have over 5,000 employees, but they have partner consultancies in "150 countries and territories." These include many locations across the US and Europe, as well as partners scattered throughout South America, Africa, the Middle East, and Asia. Across those locations, Deloitte organizations are host to 244,400 employees.

CONCLUSION

Deloitte Global, or DTTL, is made up of a huge network of partner consulting and auditing firms in 150 countries with almost 245,000 employees in total, led by CEO Punit Renjen, COO Frank Friedman, and local CEOs including Cathy Engelbert in the US and Cindy Hook in Australia. Headquartered in New York City, DTTL posted a revenue of almost $37 billion US in fiscal year 2016 -- more detailed financial information is locked behind paywalls.
