Please provide me a list of cosmetic companies that have mobile apps

Hello! Thanks for your request for a list of cosmetic companies that have mobile apps. The short version is that cosmetic companies that have mobile apps are L’Oréal, Sephora, CoverGirl, IMAN Cosmetics, Estée Lauder, Rimmel London, Sally Hansen, Mary Kay, OPI, and Lush Cosmetics. Below you will find a deep dive of my findings.

METHODOLOGY
I have scoured the Internet for articles from trusted media sites and industry reports related to this subject. After identifying the 10 mobile apps, I visited the iTunes Store to verify if the apps are still active and to obtain additional information.

OVERVIEW
Technology had changed the way consumers shop for cosmetics. The evolution of mobile applications and technologies allow smartphones to transform into beauty experts. Through a concept called augmented beauty, major beauty brands are connecting with consumers by digitizing the process and providing customization where possible via augmented reality beauty apps. Beauty apps that do not possess the augmented beauty features are also able to successfully engage consumers by providing up-to-date information and other interactive features.

1. L’ORÉAL - MAKEUP GENIUS
L’Oréal’s Makeup Genius serves as a virtual makeup tester. Users could virtually try on L’Oréal products to see how they look on their face. The app works by first scanning the user’s face to identify her facial features and evaluates her skin tone. Then the in-app mirror allows the consumer to see the makeup on her face as she tries the products. The app also sends push notifications when the company launches a new product.

2. SEPHORA - SEPHORA TO GO
Sephora To Go app allows users to buy makeup, discover new beauty products, and get access to Beauty Insider Rewards. Its Virtual Artist feature provides step-by-step makeover tutorials, virtual try-on, and expert advice. The Virtual Artist allows consumers to access over 3,000 lip colors and instantly see how each one looks on their lips. It also let users see themselves in 4 different shades on one screen in a pop art style.

3. COVERGIRL - BEAUTYU
CoverGirl’s BeautyU allows users to receive real-time face scan and quick beauty consultations. The app uses facial scanning and tracking to identify consumers’ skin tones and apply makeup looks in real-time using the camera. To understand the user’s preference, the “beauty consultant” would ask a series of questions such as “what is your skin type?” and “what is the one makeup item you cannot live without?”

4. IMAN COSMETICS - BEAUTY APP
The Iman Cosmetics app uses cutting-edge color matching technology to assist consumers to choose a range foundations, concealers, and even BB creams to match their complexion. Users would have to take a photo of themselves and upload to the app, and the tool will analyze the undertones in their skin, hair, eyes, and lips. The app would then generate a series of advice such as the foundation color that matches the user’s skin and the array of lipstick palettes to match the colors of the user’s outfit.

5. ESTÉE LAUDER - YOUCAM MAKEUP
The seamless integration of YouCam’s virtual instore magic mirrors elevates the beauty shopping experience to a new realm by inviting customers to play and experiment with products and discover the entire lip collection in a matter of seconds. The app allows users to mix and match hundreds of different makeup and beauty products to find the perfect look for every occasion. It also shares makeup tutorials, celebrity style photos, and the hottest fashion news.

6. RIMMEL LONDON - GET THE LOOK
Get The Look lets consumers “steal” a makeup look from anyone and then try it on. With the app, users can point their smartphone at a beauty ad, a photo or a person’s face and then virtually try on the same look. The app captures the shape and color of the products on the user’s model of choice and finds the closest match in Rimmel’s collection. The user can then view a simulation of these products on their face and order them via Google Shopping.

7. SALLY HANSEN – MANIMATCH
Sally Hansen aims to polish up its mobile presence with ManiMatch. The app allows consumers to “try on” a nail polish color with augmented reality before purchasing it. It works by scanning the user’s hand and then she can select the polish colors to put on her virtual nails. The app also analyzes the user’s skin tone and suggests up to 5 colors that would look good with that skin tone.

8. MARY KAY - VIRTUAL MAKEOVER
The Virtual Makeover lets consumers use their face as the canvas for creating custom beauty looks. Users can personalize everything from their hairstyle and color to accessories in addition to creating a full makeup application. Once complete, they can place their face on a cover of “The Look”, share on social media, save favorite products, or buy all the products for the entire look.

9. OPI – NAIL STUDIO
OPI Nail Studio allows consumers to make faster and better decisions on nail polish colors. It lets users set the skin tone of a virtual hand to match theirs and then try out more than 300 shades that the company offers. The app also allows users to keep track of their entire collection and organize it by “Need” or “Have.”

10. LUSH COSMETICS - MOBILE APP
The Lush Cosmetics app allows users to browse, explore and buy the freshest cosmetics on the go, or find the nearest Lush shop or spa in North America. The app lets users search for products based on scents or their mood. It also provides information on the product’s ingredients, how they are meant to be utilized, and their effects on the skin, hair, or body.

CONCLUSION
To wrap it up, L’Oréal, Sephora, CoverGirl, IMAN Cosmetics, Estée Lauder, Rimmel London, Sally Hansen, Mary Kay, and OPI had launched mobile apps that allow consumers to virtually “try” their products before buying. The Lush Cosmetics app does not possess augmented technology, but it also lets users browse, explore and buy their latest products. Thanks for using Wonder!
