Please provide the average breakdown of traffic referral sources for top digital publishers in the UK.
The top ten digital publishers in the UK are BBC, The Guardian,
Daily Mail, The Telegraph, NewsNow, The Independent, SkySports, Express, Mirror, and International Business Times. The highest ranking digital publisher in the UK is BBC, which ranks seventh in the UK and fourteenth overall globally in the News and Media category. It is also currently ranked at 101 across all websites worldwide. A spreadsheet was created to include the digital publishers and a breakdown of their traffic referral sources.
A pre-compiled list was used in order to determine the top digital publishers in the UK. This list defines the top websites by the total number of page views. The list also includes websites from other countries but these were omitted from the final compiled spreadsheet as the focus was UK based only. Since the list contained the top 100 media sites, I was able to compile a spreadsheet with the top 25 digital media websites in the UK. SimilarWeb was used to find the traffic breakdown for each of the 25 digital publishers. The spreadsheet includes the digital publisher, a full breakdown of website traffic, and accompanying sources. The traffic breakdown consists of six categories which include, direct visits, referrals from other websites, searches, social media, email links, and digital advertisements.
The attached spreadsheet contains the top 25 digital publishers in the UK with a breakdown of website traffic. The spreadsheet can be found here.
