This request was very demanding. First, we collated the Israeli startups who received significant funding in the past 2 years and cross-referenced those on CrunchBase to identify where the funding came from. Then we compiled a list of Israeli startups who are no more than 7 years old and have raised funds in Owler and then cross-checked with each company’s CrunchBase profile to ascertain the funding origin. Some companies relocated after raising funds such as Yopto. Below is a list of 10 such startups.
1. Logz.io received its Series B in Nov 2016. The Series A investor was Giza Venture Capital headquartered in Tel Aviv and the Series B had investments from OpenView based out of Boston, Massachusetts
2. Yotpo’s technology originates from Israel and was based out of Israel but has relocated to New York. It received Series A funding from Gandyr Group headquartered in Herzliya, Israel and Series B from Marker LLC based out of New York.
3. Checkmarx is headquartered in Ramat Gan, Israel. Its Series A round was led by Ofer Hi-Tech, an Angel group in Israel and Series B was funded by Salesforce headquartered in San Francisco.
4. Dapulse is headquartered in Tel Aviv, Israel. It secured Series A from Genesis Partners based out of Herzliya, Israel. Series B was from Insight Venture Partners based out of New York.
5. Illusive Networks are headquartered in Tel Aviv, Israel and received its Series A funding from Team8, a Tel Aviv-based VC. Its Series B was led by New Enterprise Associates based out of California.
6. Moovit received its Series A from Gemini Israel Ventures based out of Herzliya, Israel. Series B was funded by Sequoia Capital based out of California.
7. Otonomo is based out of Herzliya, Israel. Its round A funding was by StageOne Ventures headquartered in Herzliya, Israel. Round B was by Bessemer Venture Partners headquartered in California.
8. Magisto started in Ness Ziona, Israel. Magma Ventures, which provided both seed and round A funds, is located in Israel. Round B funds came from SanDisk Ventures and Qualcomm Ventures both headquartered in California.
9. Argus Cyber Security is headquartered in Tel Aviv, Israel. Its Series A funding was provided by Zohar ZIsapel, an Angel from Israel, and Magma Venture Partners, a VC from Tel Aviv. It's round B was received from Magna International which is based out of Oregon.
10. ThetaRay is headquartered in Jerusalem, Israel. Their Seed round and Series A was from Poalim Capital Markets, based in Tel Aviv, and Jerusalem Venture Partners based out of Jerusalem. They received Series B funds from General Electric which is based out of Connecticut.
CONCLUSION
To conclude, 10 Israeli startups who qualify according to criteria are Logz.io, Yotpo, Checkmarx, Dapulse, illusive networks, Moovit, Otonomo, Magisto, Argus Cyber Security, and ThetaRay.
