Please find websites of the top 10 cattle ranches in Japan by grade or price.
Hello! Thanks for your question about the cattle ranches in Japan. The most useful sources I found to answer your question are the Japan National Tourism Organization and TripAdvisor. The short version is that most beef farmers in Japan do not have websites nor do they accept tours to prevent exposing their secrets. However, I was able to locate more than 10 cattle ranches in Japan along with links that discuss their cows, processes, farmers, and history. Below you will find a deep dive of my findings.
METHODOLOGY
The Japan National Tourism Organization has in-depth information about wagyu brands. Unfortunately, the Matsusaka Ushi Cattle Council, Ohmi, Iwate, Yonezawagyu, and Hitachigyu pages are written in Japanese only. The only page in English was for Kobe beef.
Kazusa Wagyu lists 32 cattle ranches, however the links only provide a little information about the farmers. This site is also in Japanese only.
FINDINGS
As it turns out, cattle ranchers keep their traditions and secrets closely guarded. The majority of Japanese cattle farmers do not have website nor allow on-site tours.
- The farm is located in Kobe and has cattles. However, I'm not sure if they sell beef or just dairy, as the website is in Japanese.
Fukui Farm (no website)
- This farm has cattle. They sell dairy and possibly beef. The website is mainly in Japanese.
- This is a restaurant with barns in the back for access to fresh meat.
CONCLUSION
To wrap it up, most cattle ranches in Japan do not have websites. However, there are many news articles and awards pages that give details about cattle farmers' history, processes, and cows. Thanks for using Wonder! Please let us know if we can help with anything else!
