Please find me the most popular blogs, websites, forums/communities, podcasts, etc. that cater to, are created by, or otherwise focus on airline employees (such as flight attendants).Where do airline employees get their gossip about the industry? Where do they talk to each other about their jobs/industry? Who are the major personalities that people look to for insight/news?

Hi! Thanks for your question about popular information sources for airline employees. I was able to find several blogs, forums, social media pages, and podcasts focused on this group of people. Read on for my full report!

OVERVIEW

Instead of ranking all of these information sources together, I've split the list into categories. They're each ranked differently (blogs are ranked by Alexa index, forums and social media communities by active membership, and podcasts by social media following), so that made more sense for comparison.

It was tough to find popular blogs that were specific to airline employees; most of the blogs I found (beyond the blogs you had already listed) were multipurpose airline industry news sources. I had better luck with forums and social media communities. There is a small network of airline employee-focused podcasts, but it's a very niche audience, so the followings there are the smallest of all three categories.

BLOGS

I found most of these through FeedSpot's list of the top 50 aviation blogs -- many of the blogs on their list are hobby-focused, but a few are tailored to airline employees.

Plane Talking is an aviation industry blog based in Australia. Their global Alexa rank is #71,419.

AviationCV is a job-posting site that also includes an active blog aimed at those in the industry. AviationCV's global Alexa rank is #157,429, and they have over 71,000 followers on Facebook.

The Runway Girl Network is a hub for several aviation journalists -- this is more of a multipurpose blog, as they touch on industry news and passenger experience issues. The network has almost 58,000 Twitter followers and a global Alexa rank of #262,620.

Operational Insight is a blog aimed at airline pilots. OI has a modest Facebook following of 25,000 fans and hits #328,054 on the Alexa rankings.

FORUMS & SOCIAL MEDIA COMMUNITIES

There are several Facebook pages (both serious and humorous) aimed at airline employees. These were all more popular than the forums I found.

"Flight Attendants" is the most popular airline employee page on Facebook, with just over 63,000 followers. This page posts job listings and general industry information.

Flight Attendant Life is the next-most-popular, with around 59,000 likes. Flight Attendant Life posits itself as "a place for flight attendants to connect and share their adventures."

Airline Employee Travel Tips is a closed group for all airline employees. On this page, 28,000 airline employees share travel tips and stories, including where to find discounts, where to eat, and what areas to avoid.

Lastly Flight Attendant Memes is a humorous Facebook page aimed at flight attendants. This page has 27,000 followers.

Airline Forum is an airline employee-focused community with just over 20,000 members. The community has subforums for employees of various airlines (with varying levels of activity).

NonRev.net is another employee-focused community forum. Their Facebook page has 25,000 likes, but the forum itself only has about 9,000 members. Like the Airline Forum, NonRev has specific subforums for each airline along with more general discussion areas.

PODCASTS

Not many airline employee podcasts exist, but there are a few out there. Subscription and download numbers are hard to come by, so I've ranked these by social media following.

By that metric, Runway Girl Network's PaxEx Podcast is by far the most popular. Their 58,000 Twitter followers are the most of any podcast-associated site that I found.

Betty in the Sky with a Suitcase is a podcast from a flight attendant sharing her stories from the sky. Betty's podcast has around 2,600 followers on Twitter.

The Airline Weekly Lounge podcast is featured on iTunes' Business News podcast page, but their social media following is small: just under 1,000 Facebook likes and around 300 Twitter follows.

CONCLUSION

Popular airline employee blogs include Plane Talking, AviationCV, Runway Girl Network, and Operational Insight. There are several active airline employee communities on Facebook, and a few airline employee discussion forums are still active elsewhere online. The airline employee podcast is fairly niche but includes shows like Runway Girl Network's PaxEx, Betty in the Sky, and Airline Weekly Lounge.
