Please find examples of skin clinics/dermatologists/laser treatment centres, etc. using social media to market themselves. Here's the tough part, though: I need Canadian examples (the legislation around advertising medical services is much stricter in Canada).

Hello and thanks for asking Wonder about the social media presence of skin care clinics and dermatologists in Canada. In short, I created a list of ten clinics including their social media stats and page links in the attached spreadsheet. Websites of each clinic are included in the sources below as well as in the spreadsheet. Below you can find a deep dive on the methodology used in my research and my findings.

Methodology

I used several Google search strings looking for skin care clinics, dermatologists, and laser treatment centers. I limited the search to clinics located in Canada and reviewed each website to ensure the clinic had some medical or dermatology component to the business model. Most clinics that met the above criteria link to their social media presence from the website. I reviewed each social page to get an understanding of the level of engagement the clinic is seeing through their social channels. I reviewed the Facebook, Twitter and Instagram pages of each clinic to determine if, on at least one of these platforms, the clinic had a minimum of 1,000 followers. If they did, I included them on the list. One clinic that did not have a minimum of 1,000 followers was included on the list (SpaMedica with 897 Twitter followers). I included them because they have higher engagement than most of the other clinics (totaling 1141 Twitter likes). There's likely something to be gleaned from how they are operating their Twitter page to drive engagement from a smaller audience.

Results

About half of the clinics I reviewed had at least 1,000 followers on one of the three primary social platforms. Facebook is the most popular social platform in the skin care clinic / dermatology segment, with all ten clinics maintaining an active Facebook presence. The average number of Facebook followers among the list of ten clinics is 3,137 and average number of likes is 3,166. Twitter is the least popular social platform in this segment with only three of the ten maintaining an active Twitter following. Four of the clinics maintained Instagram pages with more than 1,000 followers.

Summary

In summary, I prepared a list of ten skin clinics and dermatologists based in Canada who maintain active social media presences. Facebook is the most popular social platform and Twitter is the least popular in this segment. Thanks for using Wonder and let us know if we can help with anything else!
