Please create a list of blogs that would be good influencers for sharing this challenge: herox.com/savethemall

Ten animal welfare/advocacy influencer blogs have been provided below. These blogs/bloggers are listed on either Feedspot’s Top 100 Animal Websites & Blogs for Animal Lovers (as of February 15, 2018), and Onalytica’s Animal Welfare Top 100 Influencers And Brands (as of August 17, 2016). Some of these blogs focus exclusively on animal welfare/advocacy, while some discuss several topics but contain a section on animal welfare/advocacy.
“Medium-sized” influencers are defined as “power-middle” influencers with 10,000 to 250,000 followers. The ten blogs listed below have 10,000 to 250,000 followers on Facebook, Twitter, and/or Instagram. Please note that there are only three blogs with 10,000 to 250,000 followers on two of their social media accounts. For each blog, I have provided the blog link and description, staff/owner, examples of posts related to pets’ welfare, contact information, and social media links and the number of followers.

LIST OF BLOGS

The mission of the Animal Rights The Abolitionist Approach is “to provide a clear statement of an approach to animal rights.” The blog is managed by Gary L. Francione, a Board of Governors Distinguished Professor of Law and his team. Animal Rights The Abolitionist Approach has posted articles that are related to domestication and pet ownership and the animal abuse registry.

Dog Star Daily provides information on dog behavior, training, and welfare. The blog contains articles written by 51 bloggers such as Roger Abrantes, who hold a Ph.D. in Evolutionary Biology and Ethology, and BA in Philosophy, DHC, DF, MAPBC. Abrantes has written articles related to dog training and dog breeders.

Dog Shaming provides dog owners with a channel to post articles on their dogs’ biggest and grossest sins. The identity of the blog owner is not available. On Adoptable Fridays, the blog admin also posts articles on dogs that are recently adopted or “advertisements” for dog’s adoption.

The majority of the articles posted by Noah Fairbanks are related to entertainment news and celebrities gossips. However, the blog also contains an animal advocacy section which covers topics such as Vietnam’s dog meat industry and Joanna Krupa’s animal rescue charity event.

Jane UnChained is a “multi-platform social media news outlet that produces original video content on animals’ rights and the vegan/compassionate lifestyle.” Its founder and content editor is Jane Velez-Mitchell. The blog contains articles that are related to the Pet Rescue & Adoption Act and puppy mills.

Companion Animal Psychology contains articles that provide “evidence-based information about how to care for our pets, and brings the latest science of companion animals and their people to a wide audience.” It is managed by Zazie Todd, who has a Ph.D. in Psychology, an MFA Creative Writing, and graduated with honors from Jean Donaldson’s Academy for Dog Trainers. Companion Animal Psychology contains a section exclusively for dogs and a section exclusively for cats.

The goal of the Humane Society Legislative Fund is to “pass animal protection laws at the state and federal levels, to educate the public about animal protection issues, and to support humane candidates for office.” Michael Markarian serves as the organization’s Chief Program & Policy Officer and President of The Fund for Animals. The blog’s Pets & Cruelty section contains articles that are related to anti-cruelty laws and puppy mill abuse.
