Please build a list of hair care brands with over $10 million of sales (either revenue or retail point of sale dollars) excluding any owned by a large CPG company (e.g. P&G, Unilever, Loreal).

Ten hair care brands with over $10 million in revenues that are not owned by large CPG companies are:

Wella
Viviscal
Davines
Yes To

The requested details for each brand, including the website link, estimated revenues, and sources of sales, along with any sources I used to find the information, have been compiled on the attached spreadsheet.

Methodology

It was very challenging to identify hair care brands that earned at least $10 million in revenues but were not a subsidiary of a larger CPG company. In searching for independent hair care brands, I came across SheaMoisture on several top hair care product lists, which indicates it is a popular brand. I then searched Owler, a business information site, to find SheaMoisture's revenues. From that point, I used SheaMoisture's competitors on Owler to find the additional nine hair care brands that made the spreadsheet. All companies are based in the United States except Wella, which is a Swiss company, and all companies sell hair care products. However, some companies sell other types of beauty products as well. Due to the fact that these companies are private, I was unable to determine the amount of revenue derived solely from hair care products.

Please note that all revenues are estimated, as the 10 hair care brands are all private companies and do not publish their actual revenues. In addition, using Crunchbase, I also determined that none of these companies have raised in excess of $10 million in venture capital funding.

Conclusion

Of the 10 companies listed on the attached spreadsheet, Brock Beauty has the highest revenue, having earned an estimated $54,000,000 in 2016. Wella is next, with an annual revenue of $30,900,000, and Viviscal is third, with $18,200,000.
