Please build a list of 10 less well known outdoor furniture makers in the US
Hello! Thank you for your research request for a list of 10 less well-known outdoor furniture manufacturers in the US. The short version is, I found 10 companies in the US that meet the criteria for this request and summarized the information in this Google spreadsheet. Below you will find a deep dive into my research methods and findings.
To being researching, I conducted advanced Internet searches using a variety of key words and query types. I sifted through information from trusted news and media sites, industry reports and company websites. As requested, I excluded individual furniture designers and larger companies like Pottery Barn, Ikea and Crate & Barrel. I looked for well-established, cool, interesting and/or unique outdoor furniture manufacturers. Where possible, I also chose manufacturers that occupy specific niches based on materials of construction, design, etc. (the majority are unique based solely on design). I confined the results to within the last of two years unless otherwise noted and kept a US focus. For each company, I verified that they have a presence in retail stores based on the information on their websites.
The request asked for brands “that have enough volume to support some really big hotel projects.” In the absence of a number or other criteria to define “enough volume,” I chose companies that have provided furniture for hotels (based on information on their websites) and have been in business for several years. Normally I would use annual revenue as part of the selection criteria, but some lesser-known companies tend to be privately owned and are not required to publish financial data.

Below please find the companies I chose from the wide variety I came across while researching. I captured more detailed information on each one in this Google spreadsheet. A typical Wonder list is comprised of 10 items. If you would like more entries, please feel free to submit a new request and we will pick up where we left off.
