How many people in the US need major orthopedic surgery, suffer CRPS (pain sydnroms), or from CMS (medical complexity) each year? How many of these then enter a rehab process?

METHODOLOGY
To answer your query my colleague and I looked for industry reports about orthopedic surgeries, surgeons, and patients in the U.S. I did not find specific information about the number of orthopedic surgery patients suffering from CRPS or CMS, but I was able to calculate the number of orthopedic surgeries this 2017 based on available data. I also did not find any information about the percentage of orthopedic surgery patients who go on to enter rehabilitation but I was able to calculate the overall market size of orthopedic rehabilitation in the US in 2017. Please read on to see the results.
ORTHOPEDIC SURGERIES
Based on the data from a Datamonitor report featured by Becker's, the number of orthopedic surgeries will grow from 5.3 million in 2010 to 6.6 million by 2020, at a calculated CAGR of 2.21%. This means that in 2017, there will be 6.17 million orthopedic surgeries in the U.S.
The site also featured a report from the American Association of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS) entitled 'Orthopaedic Practice in the U.S. 2008' with the breakdown of orthopedic surgeries performed that year.

However, I did not find any specific information whether the orthopedic surgeries were performed on patients suffering from complex regional pain syndrome or underwent circulation motion sensory medical exams.
The AAOS reported in 2016 that the top three areas of practice for orthopedic surgeons were sports medicine (18.8%), hand (11.2%), and total joint (11.5%). Also, 58% of the orthopedic surgeons workforce were specialists, 25% general orthopedic surgeons with specialty interest, and 17% generalists.
REHABILITATION MARKET
I was not able to find the percentage of orthopedic surgery patients who go on to enter rehabilitation. However, I was able to find available data that can be used to calculate the overall market size of orthopedic rehabilitation in the US in 2017.
According to Harris Williams' report Physical Therapy Market Overview published in 2014, physical therapy accounts for about 90% of the total outpatient rehabilitation spending in the US. This amounts to an estimated $26.6 billion market divided into different segments. Of these, the orthopedic physical therapy makes up 48% of outpatient rehab spending, amounting to a $14.2 billion market size in 2014. At a CAGR of 7% through 2018, the market size for orthopedic surgery outpatient rehabilitation will reach $17.3 billion this year.
