Netflix Organizational Chart - Data, Analytics, and Algorithms

C-Suite

All divisions of Netflix report to CEO Reed Hastings. All technical divisions of Netflix report to Chief Product Officer Greg Peters, and the Data, Analytics, and Algorithms Division is the responsibility of VP of Cloud Computing and Platform Engineering Yuri Izrailevsky.

Data, Analytics, and Algorithms Division is divided into three sections:

Science and Analytics Division
Headed by VP Caitlin Smallwood, Science and Analytics Division is responsible for “strengthening and optimizing all parts of the Netflix business through data science and analytics”. They provide analytic prediction tools that provide useful metrics and insights.

Data Engineering and Infrastructure Division
Headed by VP Paul Ellwood, Data Engineering and Infrastructure Division is responsible for how Netflix manages and uses data across the entire platform. Key areas include data transport and engineering, management of workflow, computational and storage resources, and management of machine learning, experimentation and reporting platforms

Product Engineering
Headed by VP Anthony Park, Product Engineering is tasked with maximizing user engagement and positive user experience with Netflix across all viewing platforms, from digital advertising to customer onboarding to the recommendation algorithm.

Netflix Organizational Chart - Design and Product Innovation, Engineering

Netflix is an on-demand media streaming service that was launched in 1997. The organization structure of the Netflix includes the engineering department, data, analytics and algorithms department, design department, marketing and PR department, HR, talent and recruiting department, global customer service department, finance department, legal department and the content department.

A) Design and Product Innovation

The Design and Product Innovation department designs the Netflix website and app interface, plans how the users will interact with the website and optimizes the user experience. Their projects include artwork personalization where the user is shown movie and TV show artwork, image, font and style according to the previous preferences of the user; and the integration of imperative APIs that allow the user to continue to watch a video while they are browsing.

Netflix Organizational Chart - Global Product Creative

The Global Product Creative department is a division within Netflix that has offices all over the world. Below you will find an overview of what the department does and a list of some top employees.

Netflix does not have a central website page for this department, aside from this page that appears to be intended for internal use as it leads to a login page. As an alternative we searched LinkedIn and found 34 employees of the Global Product Creative department. There are likely more employees that do not have a LinkedIn account, but we have included high level personnel that are available on LinkedIn.

Netflix Global Productive Creative Department

The Netflix Global Product Creative department is in charge of making sure international title releases are received seamlessly in other countries. For example, a person who works in the Asian-Pacific sector of this department would help translate and present Asian titles to over 190 other countries, all with different languages and cultures. This is done by collaborating with film studios and other media personnel, and with Netlix marketers, product innovators, and more to ensure releases in each country are well-received by viewers. The Product Creative department works with presentation of the actual film or show on Netflix, the marketing and promotion of the titles, and more.

Greg Peters - Chief Product Officer

The CCO is in charge of the actual content that Netflix offers. Since the Product Creative department works with that content as well, we can assume that the CCO plays some kind of role in this department.

Megan Imbes - Director of Global Product Creative
Megan became director of the department in 2017, transferring from North America Marketing Director. She oversees the entire creative team and helps promote titles with video, static imagery, textual assets, and more.

Denny Sheehan - Director of Global Product Creative Operations
Denny is the director of product creative operations and also the director of product creative infrastructure, according to his profile. This position includes leading large design teams, being in charge of hundreds of media assests, and ensuring the quality of global initiatives.

Elsa Dunkin - Director of Global Product Creative Product Management

Matt Bouchard - Global Manager of Product Creative Operations
We were unable to find a description of Matt's exact position, but we were able to find a description of manager duties in general. The manager of this department leads teams of creative producers, forges relationships with other teams and important contacts, and collaborate with other Netflix departments

Brian Macken - Manager of Title Operations - Global Product Creative
Brian manages daily operations in the department. We were unable to find a more detailed job description. Brian recently moved to this position, transferring from the position of Content Distribution Manager where managed global content contracts.

In conclusion, the Global Product Creative department of Netflix helps create seamless releases of titles in international countries. They have offices all over the world and the department reports to Greg Peters, Chief Product Officer.
