RESEARCH STRATEGY
In order to fulfill this request, we searched the distribution company websites and annual reports to find any unregulated affiliate businesses or business units the companies may have. Most of the companies are pure electricity distribution companies. A couple of companies also distribute water; however, as water distribution is regulated in Canada, the water distribution has not been listed as an unregulated business. Activities like street lighting, tree trimming, and locating underground cable are all part of the distribution business.
Veridian and Whitby Hydro Electric Corporation were merged and became Elexicon Group. Therefore, the unregulated businesses for both companies is the same as the unregulated businesses of Elexicon Group.
