  • Part of the report discusses the implementation of telemedicine to help doctors maintain care with their patients during the COVID-19 pandemic. It claims that several barriers to the adoption of telemedicine have subsided as doctors are using video links to help treat people stricken with the virus and provide routine care to others, while healthcare organizations and insurers are being tasked with implementing telemedicine. Additionally, the report lists telemedicine as a long-lasting solution to providing necessary care in a safe manner.

Research Strategy:

After an exhaustive search, we could only locate four consultant reports from the listed consultancies that have been published within the last month on the specified topics of interest. The limited availability of such reports could be due to the niche nature of this request (i.e., the time frame, specific organizations, specified topics, etc.).

Our research began by exploring the official websites of the listed organizations we were instructed to define as consultant, namely Deloitte, McKinsey, Advisory Board, Bain, Blue Health Intelligence, Gartner, Scottsdale Institute, and Pharmacy Purchasing and Products. While on their sites, we searched for any reports published within the last month on any of the outlined topics, ensuring to use their respective filter features to sort the results. However, this research strategy only yielded recently published articles and webinars as opposed to comprehensive reports.

Next, we performed an x-ray search for each organization, searching for reports on each of the various topics of interest. This research strategy worked to an extent as it provide us with four separate, relevant reports from two of the entities that at least discussed the topics at hand. However, the results were very limited.

Finally, we explored through various media and news articles to see if they referenced reports from any of the organizations on any of the topics of interest. We wanted to use those sources to link to the original reports and present them in our brief. Nonetheless, this research strategy did not offer fruitful results as we primarily came across references to articles.
