News releases and statements from ten US hospital systems have been collected in the last ten tabs of the attached spreadsheet.

Key Findings

  • On April 20, 2020, Beaumont Health announced that, since mid-March, it has discharged around "2,076 COVID-19 patients with 154 patients taken off ventilators."
  • On April 17, 2020, NewYork-Presbyterian Queens announced it's converting its former hospital cafeteria into a patient room to "meet the demand of incoming COVID-19 patients."
  • On April 17, 2020, Penn Medicine announced that its researchers have started an experimental approach to investigate if plasma antibodies from people who have recovered from COVID-19 can be applied to boost the immune system for moderately and severely ill patients.
  • On April 16, 2020, Broad Institute of MIT, Biogen Inc., Harvard, and Partners HealthCare announced a partnership to build and share a biobank that's pointed at finding vaccines and treatments for COVID-19.
  • On April 1, 2020, UnityPoint Health announced that it had launched a texting platform and a virtual waiting room intended to limit in-person patient visits to its centers.

The research team searched the companies' official websites, focusing on the newsroom pages to identify topics of interest in the past month. Next, the team explored news search engines like Google News and Newslookup, for this information. After searching extensively, we determined that Baptist Memorial Health Care Corporation and Prospect Medical Holdings have not published topics of interest, including COVID-19 related announcements in the past month.
