I need a list (table?) of the 10 ELN (Electronic Laboratory Notebook) products for academic research - specifically in life-sciences, both SaaS products and on-premiss/installed products. What sets each of them apart, what is their unique feature/service, what is the size of their user base (how many users/subscribers), and most impertinently, what is their business model/pricing structure - if free, how is the product monetized (referrals? ads?)
Hello! Thanks for using Wonder to request a list of ELN products for academic research! In short, we have created a competitive landscape of LabArchives, Benchling, LabGuru, and LabFolder, and entered this information into a spreadsheet for you.
METHODOLOGY
In order to determine which products to profile for this request, we relied on an article which lists the top nine best ELNs. There are about 100 ELNs on the market today. While it would be out of scope for this request for us to research and compare the number of users for each of these 100 products, we were able to narrow the products down to the nine listed in this article. From there, we researched the user base of each of these nine products to determine which four products to focus on. To create your spreadsheet, we relied on product websites to gain insights on the features, prices and product descriptions. We then accessed review websites in order to understand the pros and cons of these products. Additionally, we found articles that helped to provide user information.
You can find your spreadsheet here.
CONCLUSION
To wrap it up, we have created a competitive landscape of LabArchives, Benchling, LabGuru, and LabFolder, and entered this information into a spreadsheet for you.
Thanks for using wonder! Please let us know if we can help with anything else!
