I need a list of salaries for Deans, Associate Deans, and Assistant Deans of Schools and Colleges of Optometry, both private and public. I have been offered a position as Associate Dean for one of the private schools and was asked to formally request a salary. Here is a list of optometry schools for you to investigate: rows 2-8 on the attached spreadsheet
Hello and thank you for your question about the salaries for Deans, Associate Deans, and Assistant Deans of Schools and Colleges of Optometry. The most useful resources I found to answer your question were the Universities' websites and their disclosed salary reports. In short, most universities offer complete health plans and some of them go as far as offering retirement plans. The only two universities that didn't disclose the salaries of their employees were Southern California College of Optometry and Western University of Health Sciences. I have included the salaries information on the spreadsheet, here. Below, you will find a deeper dive into my findings.
OVERVIEW
In order to answer your question, I mainly looked through the universities' websites and their disclosed salary reports. There were 3 Universities from the list that didn't disclose the salaries of their employees: Midwestern University Arizona College of Optometry, Southern California College of Optometry and Western University of Health Sciences. For the Midwestern University, I was able to estimate the average salary for the requested positions using information on the salaries of the requested positions from other universities and schools in Arizona. Unfortunately, that wasn't possible for Southern California College of Optometry and Western University of Health Sciences. Although Western University has disclosed that deans are number 7 in the payment structure, associate deans - 6, and assistant deans - 5, the chart that contained the information was, regrettably, not detailed enough to provide an estimate of their average salaries. I have included all of the information in the spreadsheet "Dean Salaries" in rows 2-8, columns C-E.
