Hello! Thank you for your question on private hospitals near San Francisco with the lowest HCAHPS star scores. The most useful sources I found to answer your question were a list of California hospitals provided by the Office of Statewide Health Planning and Development, as well as a list of HCAHPS scores for California hospitals from public.tableau.com. In short, there are 18 private hospitals in the San Francisco Bay area that have 200+ beds, as well as an HCAHPS star rating of 3 or below. Below, you will find a deep dive of my findings. I have also incorporated the desired information on a spreadsheet, per your request.
METHODOLOGY
The Bay Area Census indicates there are 9 counties with the San Francisco Bay Area region. I was able to narrow down hospitals within these counties that have 200+ beds based on the list of registered hospitals provided by the Office of Statewide Health Planning and Development. After reviewing the list of California Association of Public Hospitals and Health Systems members, I was able to eliminate all public facilities from the research. Finally, public.tableau.com provided a graph with all of the California hospitals eligible for HCAHPS ratings, along with their star score.
