I need a list of (#1-10) different U.S. based startups in the Conversational AI market with their name, year founded, short description, traction numbers, link to their website; competitive advantage, stage (meaning what stage in terms of funding they are). Hello! Thanks for your question about US-based start-ups in the Conversational AI market. I have created a list of 10 companies that satisfy your criteria which you can find in the linked spreadsheet here.

Below you will find a deep dive of my findings.

BACKGROUND

Conversational Artificial Intelligence is an emerging market poised to take off and has seen a lot of investment activity over the past couple years.

Areas of opportunity using this technology include:
1. Conversation Management such as chatter bots or chatbots that are conversational programs that are based on a set of rules.
2. Simultaneous Multi-Domain Context Management with LSTM (Long and Short Term Memory). 3. Speech Recognition 4. Emotional Understanding and Expressivity 5. Voice Biometrics

METHODOLOGY

I first searched the Crunchbase database for companies in the Conversational Artificial Intelligence space. I quickly came up with a handful of companies that fit the criteria for this research.

Next, I searched Angel.co; however, it did not specify Conversational Artificial Intelligence but did offer Speech Recognition companies.

I also did a sweeping search to identify any companies that were not on my original list.

After I weeded out companies that were not based in the US, I dove deeper to try to learn more about their traction and competitive advantages. As start-ups, none offered financial statements or releases of revenues or profitability so I had to search for press releases of client acquisition and other metrics from their websites and public resources. Sometimes, I had to be creative:

A. SEMRUSH for keyword and search metrics

B. Brandgauge for social media hits

Broadly, I define traction as: - Profitability - Revenues - Active users or registered users - Engagement - Partnerships/clients - Traffic
Without access to internal documents, most of my traction research was active users, partnerships and clients.

You will find sources for each company within the spreadsheet.
