Multi-Family Property Management Companies- Houston

Houston is home to a significant number of property management companies. While pre-compiled lists of property management companies exist, they are very general in the sense that the lists include, for example, the "Top 25" or the "18 Best" property management firms. The lists are then made up of property management companies that manage single-family, multi-family, associations, and commercial properties. Each list must then be searched through to determine which companies manage multi-family homes either exclusively or in conjunction with other properties. Below you will find a list of 20 multi-family property management companies located in Houston. These companies along with the rest of the requested information about each company have been compiled and entered into the attached spreadsheet.

Methodology

In order to find property management companies that specialize in multi-family properties, searches were conducted for precisely those. The resulting companies, however, were not specifically multi-family management companies. They were instead companies that manage various kinds of companies including single-family, multi-family, and commercial. Each list, therefore, had to be sorted through so the companies that manage multi-family properties either exclusively or in conjunction with other types of properties could be located and entered into the attached spreadsheet. The time allowed for a standard Wonder request is 60-90 minutes. Over two hours was spent sorting through property management companies resulting in a list of 20 multi-family property management companies located in Houston. Once identified as multi-family, each company had to be explored individually so that the remaining requested information could be gathered and entered into the attached spreadsheet. Some information was not publicly available. Details regarding that information as well as a list of the 20 companies have been included below.

Complete information

Phone numbers and company websites were the only requested information that was completely publicly available for each of the 20 companies included in the attached spreadsheet.

Incomplete information

EMAIL ADDRESSES

Email addresses were available for all but six of the included companies. Those companies, Allied Orion Group, The Finger Companies, Cornerstone Income Properties, The Hanover Company, Green Residential and Tanglewood Property Group use contact forms accessible through pages on their websites in lieu of published email addresses.

CEO/OWNER NAMES

The names of the CEOs, owners, or founders were available for all but two of the companies, PropertyCare and R&H Management. Since neither company provides information about their owner or executive team, other sources were searched. R&H Management's LinkedIn page led to the owner/CEO's page where a picture of the CEO is provided but not the name. PropertyCare's LinkedIn page provided the same information for their CEO. I was unable to access these profiles so additional information about them cannot be provided at this time.

LINKEDIN
Of the 20 included CEOs/owners, eight do not have active LinkedIn profile pages, including Marvy Finger (The Finger Companies), Brent L. Bunger (Adara Communities), and Barry Kahn (Hettig/Kahn Companies).
CEO/OWNER CONTACT INFORMATION
CEO/owner contact information was not publicly available for the following 5 companies: Cornerstone Income Properties, Creative Property Management Company, Propertycare, Green Residential, and R&H Management.
NUMBER OF PROPERTIES/TOTAL UNITS
The availability of information stating the number of properties and/or the total number of units for the 20 companies listed in this request was very inconsistent. Only five companies: Allied Orion Group, The Finger Companies, Camden Property Trust, Rockwell Management, and Kaplan Management Company provided both numbers. An additional five companies provided the number of properties but not the total number of units. Those companies were Hettig/Kahn Companies, Oak Leaf Management, Empire Industries LLC, Tanglewood Property Group, and R&H Property Management. One company, Cornerstone Income Properties provided the total number of units, but not the number of properties. The remaining nine companies: Asset Plus Companies, Tarantino Properties, Adara Communities, Creative Property Management Company, Northpoint Asset Management, AREA Texas Realty & Property Management, The Hanover Company, PropertyCare, and Green Residential provided neither the number of properties nor the total number of units they manage. Other information such as states they manage properties in or services they offer is provided.

Conclusion

Houston is home to a significant number of property management companies that manage properties ranging from single-family to multi-family to commercial. While pre-compiled lists of property management companies exist, they are not segmented according to what type or types of properties are being managed. The lists contain a mix of property management companies that needed to be searched through to determine which companies manage multi-family homes either exclusively or in conjunction with other properties. A list of 20 companies and the requested information about each company has been compiled and entered into the attached spreadsheet
