We are moving to the Milwaukee WI area and investigating where to live. We have small children and want to balance quality of life, school district and commute time. Could you please compile a list of Milwaukee WI suburbs/neighborhoods? Please specify their (a) commute time to 1201 S 2nd St, Milwaukee, WI 53204, (b) general demographics (at a minimum to include: average income, education level, age distribution), (c) amenities (parks, bike trials, etc) and (b) detailed assessments of the school districts. Locations with a one-way commute greater than 40 mins can be ignored.
Hello! Thanks for your question about the neighborhoods and suburbs of Milwaukee, WI. The short version is that we have composed a top ten list of the best areas to live in based on a list from the HomeSnacks website, ensured that the commute is within your range, and pulled census data and school reviews to give a top-down overview of these areas. We have compiled this data into a project spreadsheet with attached links as requested. Below you will find a deep dive of my findings.
We first located your target work address in Google Maps and zoomed out to get a better feel for the Milwaukee area. Our next step was to do a general search on Milwaukee suburbs; our intent was simply to have a list of locations to work with, but this fortuitously led us to a HomeSnacks list of 35 suburbs around Milwaukee that they considered the best to live in. We ran these locations through Google Maps, using its ability to estimate travel times adjusting for traffic. We researched the top ten neighborhoods, pulled demographic data from the Census Bureau, school ratings from SchoolDigger, and located nearby parks on Google Maps.
Note that the Census Bureau groups its findings by zip code, and zip codes do not always perfectly match the municipality. In some cases, we have had to make a judgment call. Since all the data in columns C-G comes from the same source, we have not placed links for each entry. In some cases, the Census data conflicts with HomeSnacks'. We have favored the official US Census.
We have put the results together into a project spreadsheet as requested.
A deeper dive into the school systems and other amenities is out of scope for a standard Wonder request when composing a top ten list due to time constraints. If you wish, we can conduct a deep dive on one or more of these townships as individual follow-up requests, but the information that we have provided here should provide you with a good high-level view of the suburbs of Milwaukee to guide your search for a new home.
To wrap it up, we have composed a top ten list of the best areas to live in based on a list from the HomeSnacks website, ensured that the commute is within your range, and pulled census data and school reviews to give a top-down overview of these areas. We have compiled this data into a project spreadsheet with attached links as requested.
