REVIEWS OF TRUCK DRIVER STAFFING FIRMS
Positive experiences:
One of the positive experiences drivers have had with staffing agencies is that if they don't like working for a certain company or they become bored with an assignment, they have the ability to change over to a different company or assignment.
Another positive experience that many drivers report enjoying while working for staffing agencies is flexibility with regard to their schedules, however some have reported that the availability of work tends to slow down around the holidays.
Truckers also report they have enjoyed working with a staffing agency, because it means that they can avoid "forced dispatch," which is when a company tries to pressure or convince a driver to carry a load which the driver deems to be unsafe.
Truck drivers who use staffing agencies have also stated that they appreciate the way the agency "staff helps with driver issues." Drivers report that they have been happy with the overall timeliness and professionalism with regard to receiving communication from the agencies.
Many drivers have reported that the staffing agencies they worked for operated with a solid sense of integrity and morals.
Negative experiences:
One of the negative experiences drivers have had with staffing agencies is that often times the jobs provided by these agencies are only temporary, and even if a driver has been working the same job for several years, they can also be removed from that job at any time for any reason at all. In short, these types of jobs typically lack job security.
Another negative experience some drivers report having with staffing agencies is that there are not always full-time assignments available. Additionally, some drivers have also reported that the staffing agency was slow to notify them on certain days when they did not have to work. Some drivers have also said that they feel they should receive some sort of compensation when days when they get called-off work.
Some truck drivers have also stated that they were unhappy with their overall compensation, and that they didn't get enough "home time." Others have reported that they feel the companies the agencies work with are sometimes "shady."
