Who are the market leaders in the Australian farming irrigation industry with the focus on soil sensors companies like Sentek? Please include market share if possible.
Thank you for your request for information on market leaders in the Australian farming irrigation industry, focusing on soil sensor companies such as Sentek. Six of Sentek's competitors in the Australian market are presented. A deep dive of my findings can be found below.
METHODOLOGY
In order to research this request, I began by examining data on Sentek, in order to look for their top competitors. I also found information from Australia's Department of Agriculture and Food that discussed these monitors and how they vary. Companies that offer only one sensor, or are strictly distributors for major manufacturers were excluded from this list. Only companies with a physical presence (versus purchasing via internet) in Australia are listed. After extensive searching and consultation with colleagues, I have found that market shares for these companies in the Australian market are not publicly available. I was, however, able to find that the global market is expected to reach $206.2 million USD by 2020, with a CAGR of 16.2% between the years 2015 and 2020. Companies are presented with a brief listing of their products and capabilities, as well as contact information in Australia.
CAMPBELL SCIENTIFIC INSTRUMENTS
Campbell Scientific Instruments (CSI) offers three standard systems, as well as the ability to customize a system to the customer's needs. Standard systems are: TDR100 Time-Domain Reflectometer, HS2P Hydrosense II Display with Insertion Pole, and the HS2 Hydrosence Display that can be paired with other probes and sensors. Campbell states that they "can measure nearly every commercially available soil sensor, including tensiometers, heat flux plates, thermocouples, psychrometers, lysimeters, and gypsum blocks." Campbell Scientific Australia was founded in 1993 as a division of US based Campbell Scientific Instruments.
