RESEARCH STRATEGY

To determine the top 10 Fintech, Insurtech and Proptech companies in Europe, the research team began by conducting separate searches for articles, news, and reports on pre-compiled lists of top fintech, insurtech, and proptech companies in Europe. Some places we searched include FintechNews, CB Insights, TechCrunch, and EU-Startups. Through this search, we found several pre-compiled lists of the top/most valued/most promising Fintech startups in Europe, such as Oaknorth, Greensill Capital, Transferwise, and Klarna, among others. We also found pre-compiled lists about the top proptech companies in Europe such as Appear Here, Spotahome, Goodlord, Nested, among others, and some top insurtech companies such as Zego, Qover, Yulife, among others in EU-startups. We continued our search by looking critically at each fintech company, insurtech company, and proptech company that we found to determine if they received any funding in the last two years. We discovered that some companies that we found did not receive any funding in the last two years. Therefore, we compiled a new list of companies that received findings in the last two years and eliminated the companies that did not receive any funding in the last two years.
With our new list, we searched for each company's funding amount to determine those with the highest funding in the last two years. We scoured through each company's website for news and press releases about their latest funding, and we also checked each company's profile in company databases such as CrunchBase and Bloomberg, among others to determine their funding in the last two years. We leveraged the information that we found on each company's website, news, press releases and company profile in company databases and we were able to determine the top 10 companies with the highest funding in Europe the last two years. Hence, we selected the top four fintech companies that received the highest funding in Europe in the last two years (Oaknorth, Greensill Capital, Transferwise, and Klarna). We selected the top three Insurtech companies that received the highest funding in Europe in the last two years (Zego, Qover, and Yulife). Finally, we selected the top proptech companies that received the highest funding in Europe in the last two years to make up the top 10 fintech, insurtech, and proptech companies which received the highest funding in Europe in the last two years.
