First, we assumed that each property must be located in an area with a population of less than 7,000 for the surrounding area to be considered isolated. Also, we classified any area that had either a low crime rate as a safe area. We calculated the minimum wage and stable governments of the various properties using such websites as Global Economy and Euro Fund. We ensured to only include properties that were based in Europe. Additionally, we interpreted oceanic view to include coastal view, bay view, and the ocean view of properties situated on islands.

We have also classified any area that had a very low or a low crime rate as a safe area. We have determined the political stability and the hourly minimum wages of the countries of the properties based on reports from Global Economy and Eurofund. We have only included properties in Europe that offer ocean views.
