Research Strategy

To produce this research there was an analysis into longhorn to find out what it's competitors would look like. A review of industry articles, news, public statements, and reports, helped to compile a list of restaurants that have been compared to and reviewed alongside Longhorn because of similar business structures, offerings, locations, and characteristics. Each of the chosen restaurants offered similar menu items and had similar price ranges. We aimed at choosing restaurants with the best reviews that were also closely located to the Longhorn Steakhouse. This list was then further investigated individually to identify the value proposition, relationships to longhorn, and their websites.

In 2019, LongHorn Steakhouse has opened new restaurants in Avon, Braselton, Palm Beach Gardens, and Colonie. The company has announced plans to open new restaurants in Talleyville, Tyler, Fort Worth, and Asheville in 2020. In May 2019, a LongHorn Steakhouse restaurant in Liberty/Kansas City North reopened after a fire broke out at the location nearly five months earlier.
