Hello! Thanks for your request for the top 20 solar industry trade websites/publications. The most useful source for this research was PV Resources list of recommended industry publications. I have compiled a list of 20 such publications in this spreadsheet. While I was only able to find one existing list of top publications, I verified that each of these publications are high quality with high readership, high quality client base, and are well-established in the industry. Below you will find a deep dive of my methodology and my findings are in this spreadsheet.
METHODOLOGY
There were limited sources with pre-existing lists of top publications. However, PV Resources has a useful list of recommended publications, which I cross-checked against my list and used to pull additional sites.
As I was only able to find this one existing "top resources" list, I did an advanced search for solar, photovoltaic technology, and renewable energy (with solar included) publications and then verified that each had a comprehensive website with regularly-updated content, had high readership/traffic level, and/or is well-established in the industry based on years, client-base, and awards. This involved perusing each website in detail- due to the number of pages I read through, I limited the sources linked below to home-pages and pages where I found the contact information. The sources linked below are in the order of the names in the spreadsheet.
Under "What are you not looking for?" I wasn't sure if by "Only U.S. market interested in solar" you meant you are only interested in the U.S. market or did not want results limited to the U.S. market. As such, I prioritized publications that have a global (including U.S.) or North American focus and avoided country-specific publications. In that way, I hope I have provided publications that meet your requirements.
THE LIST
I listed all requested information in this spreadsheet and ordered the names by source links below. Please note that all of these are online publications with some offering print magazines as well. I also include a notes column with information on why the publication made the list. All sources are listed below. In cases where emails were not available, I used hunter.io, a trusted email finder that pulls verified email structures. I have noted where information was unavailable.
