List top 13 blogs and content sites in the United States and their top writers that write about marijuana - recreational use, medical, culture and accessories

Hello! Thanks for your question about the top marijuana blogs and content sites. The short version is that I found 14 websites, a lot of traffic KPIs, and an email or a Twitter handle for each site. In some cases I was able to find email addresses at the organization, but not for the author. I used MailTester.com, email Hippo, and Anymail finder to track down the requested emails.

Below you will find a deep dive of my findings.

METHODOLOGY

To find the top blogs I cross-verified SimilarWeb.com's choice of the top marijuana-related blogs and content sites with articles from Forbes.com and medicalcodingcertification.com and TheWeedBlog.com. Each of those sites had a list of the top 10 or so marijuana-related sites in the U.S.
I used SimilarWeb.com to determine the web stats requested. Since U.S.-only traffic numbers aren't available on the free version of the site, I did a simple calculation in the Google Sheets document (linked below in the SPREADSHEETS section) multiplying the monthly traffic by the percent of traffic from the U.S. to come up with the U.S. only traffic figures.

I cross-verified SimilarWeb.com's choice of the top marijuana-related blogs and content sites with articles from Forbes.com and medicalcodingcertification.com and TheWeedBlog.com.

After inputting the KPIs into the Google Sheets document, I sorted the data by the U.S. traffic figures to determine the order of ranking of the sites (which is also the order of the rows in the document.) I also noted SimilarWeb.com's U.S. site ranking.

In reviewing each blog or website, I looked for the most prolific article writers as I was unable to determine individual traffic for each article. In a few cases, the authors were not named or were compiled under an umbrella by-line called "staff." In each case like this I endeavored to find named email accounts at the organization, and I put those emails under the Notes column on the spreadsheet.

Here is the link to the spreadsheet with a url, rank, number of monthly visitors and other kpi, notes, and top writer information and article links:

CONCLUSION

To wrap it up, I found 14 top marijuana sites or blogs and was able to provide either an email or Twitter handle for the most prolific writers, or alternative emails for the organization for each.
