Research Strategy

To identify licensing companies in the children's goods category, your research team referred to a report on the top 150 global licensing companies published by License Global. Using this report, we identified ten companies in the children's goods category. Next, we identified a contact person for licensing at each company using LinkedIn, Crunchbase, company websites, and press releases. Finally, we located email addresses for each contact using email finders such as Clearbit Connect. In the case that a direct phone number for the contact person was not available, we provided the phone number for the company headquarters.

    RESEARCH STRATEGY

To provide 8–10 licensing companies in the International Sports News Agencies category and the appropriate contact at each, the research team started by scouring for such companies/agencies that provide licensing services. We looked through industry blogs/media publications that generally list such information, such as Forbes, Inc., Deloitte, Medium, About Allpro, among others. After listing the companies, we looked whether they provided licensing services from their respective websites and sourced the relevant contact person and title from LinkedIn.

Since many companies are a subsidiary of a bigger group and a direct contact-person was not available on LinkedIn or company website, we have provided the contact information of the relevant person of the group. We have also used sources older than 24 months to provide a comprehensive overview and to show the owner/group of a few companies. After identifying the names and job title, we scoured Hunter, Rocket reach, Zoom Info, and LinkedIn profiles to identify their email addresses and contact number. Though we were able to provide the email addresses, their contact numbers were not available. We have provided the screenshots of all Hunter and rocket reach email addresses in a Google document.

    Licensing Contacts: International News Agencies

Licensing executives for consumer goods at International news agencies include Anna Viola, Alice Ting, Melissa Robinson, Todd Simmons, Jennifer Nuccio, Priscilla Ng, Ross Paterson, Manuel Torres, and Carla Peyton. The research insights were presented on the assigned spreadsheet International news agencies (not sports) tab, Column A-G, Row 3-11.

    FINDINGS

    RESEARCH STRATEGY

In order to find some licensing executives at international news agencies (non-sport), we began by first identifying top news agencies from news sources such as Similar Web and 41mn. We utilized sophisticated search strategies to identify nine top executives at the identified news agencies as well as their contacts. Importantly, in cases were we could not identify executives specialized in consumer products licensing in the identified news agencies, we provided senior-level licensing personnel within the organization.

Unfortunately, we could not find contact phone numbers for all the identified executives after engaging in extensive research across contact databases and corporate websites such as Hunter. Given this, we sought to engage in sophisticated search strategies to determine the contact information of the identified executives working at international news agencies. The secondary research strategy did not yield the intended results. As such, we expanded the research criteria by identifying the contact information of the department that the identified executives were attached. Unfortunately, this research strategy also did not yield any results. Thus, we sought to identify the contact information of the international news agency headquarters where the identified executives could be reached. Fortunately, the information was widely available and was presented in the attached spreadsheet, specifically in the International news agencies (not sports) tab, Column A-G, Row 3-11.

    RESEARCH STRATEGY

Your research team began the search for the ten licensing contacts at Fanatics by going through the contact list provided on LinkedIn, the Fanatic's official website, social media sites like Facebook and Twitter, and Fanatic's news and press releases. Many of the contacts on LinkedIn are only visible to premium accounts and their connections. We managed to find ten public contacts for employees with licensing jobs at Fanatics on the LinkedIn platform. However, we were not able to see any emails or phone numbers for these Fanatic's employees during our search. The Fanatic's employees found on Facebook, and Twitter did not provide the licensing positions.

We proceeded to use email and phone locator sites, including Hunter, Rocket Reach, and Zoominfo to find the employee's emails and phone numbers. Information portals like Google Maps and Yahoo provided corporate phone numbers for all the employees provided. Other useful information was retrieved from industry portals like sports magazines, contracts, and journals.

Using information from Hunter, which shows the most common pattern for emails at Fanatics is {f}{last}@fanatics.com and information from Lusha which states email patterns at Fanatics are 88% first_initial and last name (jsmith@fanatics.com), 1% first and last names(johnsmith@fanatics.com), 8% other_template (other_template@fanatics.com), and 1% first name (john@fanatics.com), we provided the most probable email address for employees who could not be located, with first initial, last name @fanatics.com. One employee had no last name given, had only the phone number available.
